Pasta Primavera with Italian Turkey Sausage

This dish had really good flavor, but I thought that the basil and tomato were a little overdone by the time the other veggies were done. Next time, I'll wait a couple minutes (literally about two!) to add the tomato and basil so that it retains a little more shape, giving this dish more of a "fresh" and summery flavor. Also, I don't like spicy food so I left out the red pepper flakes, but ended up adding some after sitting down to eat. The dish is not as spicy as I thought it would be (it smells spicier than it is). This might be because I used a sweet chicken sausage instead, but either way...

Stuffed French Toast II

I bought Philadelphia's white chocolate cream cheese spread at the store yesterday, so when I saw this recipe I thought I'd try it with a switch. I spread the wc cream cheese onto both slices of bread. To keep from being to sweet, I used frozen raspberries I had on hand instead of the jam. I then double-dipped into the egg batter; delicious!

My Mother's Mac and Cheese

After reading the other reviews, I increased the cheese (to 3 cups). This was still very tomato-y, so next time I will reduce the tomatoes to 1 (14.5 oz) can. I also reduced the baking time after one reviewer said it was dry. I baked it for 25 minutes, added the last half-cup of cheese, and baked for an additional 10 minutes. Was still a bit dry in the top corners, but not too bad.

Slow Cooker Baked Beans

The flavor on this was excellent. However, it did not cook as indicated! It says to boil the beans for 1.5 hours, which I did - and there was NO water left. Thankfully they did not burn. I had started it in the morning, thinking I would soak the beans longer. I skipped the soaking and put it straight into the crock pot. I had to add an additional cup of water since I didn't have any left after boiling. I kept the crock pot on low and it was absolutely perfect by 2:30 in the afternoon.... and mushy by the time we ate dinner. I'll definitely do this again, but start it later in the day so they aren't so mushy next time. Again, great flavor. Next time I might add some bacon with the ham to give it a little bit more zest.

Fragrant Lemon Chicken

The flavor on this chicken was good - not great but better than just okay. Like some other reviewers, I used just chicken breasts and not a whole chicken. I knew this would reduce the time but I didn't realize how much! I had mine on low the whole time for 4 1/2 hours and it was slightly overdone. If I do it again, I'll drop my time to 3 1/2 to 4 hours. I'll also increase the lemon juice and might skip the apples (couldn't taste them on the chicken and didn't like the taste of them off the chicken).
