Crab Quiche

Reviewed: May 17, 2012
Delicious, perfect!! Used real crab (8oz drained) just cuz had extra, but will try with imitation next time for cost. As per other reviews, added generous amount garlic powder and 1tsp old bay seasoning and some onion powder...

Baked Yam Fries with Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
Delicious!!! Dip is amazing (didn't have taco seasoning, so used old bay seafood seasoning instead - with no paprika either) The yams I left thicker chunks and cooked a bit longer, 25 mins as recipe said, then up to 400 and didn't time, but was probably another 20 mins. In fact, I think I'm going to have tonight. THANKS!!

Roquefort Pear Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
OMG, DELICIOUS!!! Made as is (except used one pear only) and have made about 5 times in 2 weeks. So good, everyone has loved it! Pecans I also make double and use on other things, like crepes, etc..

Chocolate Ribbon Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
Don't know if just the ingredients I used, but epic failure! The crust fell apart and the pudding needed cooking. (I used the instructions on the recipe and did not work, ended up having to redo using instructions on the individual ingredients bought, instead). Not sure if instant pudding and prebaked crust exist, but they are not available at the store here. Again, perhaps ingredients error and not recipe, so take poor rating loosely please. The cream cheese layer tasted great, will use that in a different dessert dish!!

Quick and Easy Green Chile Chicken Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2011
So good as is!! Also, the last time I used cheddar and provolone (because didn't feel like going to the store) and used wheat tortillas and left them whole, and used half the amount of tortillas. It was delicious, and even tasted good cold the next day. :)

Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2011
Wow. okay, first off I don't even like chocolate, I made it for my boyfriend, and ended up eating 3 slices myself!! i made it as is, exactly, no change, except used my own frosting recipe. I made two pans (9 inch), and it was so crumbly, didn't want to risk cutting so left as two layers, and will do that in future because that was perfect. Made much bigger cake than expected, very crumbly, but just shoved all the pieces back together, and no one noticed or cared. Delicious, seriously, I have never liked chocolate cake, but for some reason this cake i loved. (and my boyfriend and mom LOVE it, too, though they love all desserts, lol) (I also made this same cake with broken (in big pieces) oreos in the batter, and LOTS more broken oreos sprinkled on top of frosting both layers, and served with plain vanilla ice cream. perfect!!)

Empire Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
The cookies were fantastic!! did heart shaped which made cooking time a bit longer (like extra 3 minutes) used raspberry jelly with seeds tasted great. However, and maybe I'm not too great a chef, but I tried the icing four seperate times and it just instantly hardened too thick to spread and had to throw out. I don't know what I did wrong. Will make again but use diff glaze. also, hard to roll out cookie dough, but used wax paper and rolled, reballed, rolled again, etc.. the third through 8 times rolling out were much easier than first, which was crumbly. :) so cookies are a 5 star without a doubt, just took one star off for the icing. thanks!

French Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2010
perfect! I had to let rise a lot longer and eventually just put in low temp oven so it'd rise but that's because I live in a cold climate.. tasted great. ate first one as garlic bread, made crutons with next batch and will make stuffing today. This is a keeper!
