Recently after months of gastrointestinal issues, doctor recommend I try being without gluten in my diet since she thought it could be a gluten allergy/sensitivity.

Figured it was worth a shot and saw it as last hope of figuring out what the heck was wrong.  Did two week trial and still had mild pain occasionally (certainly nothing near what I had been experiencing).  Today I had a non-gluten friendly choice of Egg Noodles.. which my stomach did not appreciate.

So this blog will be my trial and error of this new Gluten Free life I must lead in order to free my stomach from pain :)

Good luck! I know it will be a big change but you will surely feel a lot better. Hopefully you will learn to enjoy your new lifestyle!

Hi! Just happened to find you while browsing the latest blogs, since I posted one today -- which happens to be for gluten-free waffles. The store-bought ones are awful, I think. But, I like the ones I came up with. I myself am not on a GF diet, though it was once suggested that I try that (never really did). Since I do have some health issues (like most people do), I'm using more vegan and gluten-free recipes.

Just wanted to let you know that my oldest DD went gluten free for non specific stomach problems and it helped her so much. She never had the test (poor law student) but she said she's never go back to gluten. My second DD who does have Crohn's disease went GF a year and a half ago because she was so tired of always feeling sick and being tired. It took a long while before she felt better but after 1 year her endoscopy/colonoscopy came back with NO active disease. She's 25, she was diagnosed at 10 (probably had it for 2 years before that and was misdiagnosed) she has been on more medicines and treatments then I can begin to tell you. This is the 1st time she's ever had a report of no active disease so we were thrilled. It took us a while to find a DR who understood the whole gluten allergy issue but it has been so worth it. More and more things are gluten free now and you can find a million recipes on-line if you want to make things yourself. Wishing you good luck, give it time to heal your insides before you go back on gluten. If you want to hear more of what we found out let me know and I'll give you my e/m.

@Wendyws: I will be checking out your recipe for GF waffles! you are so right about store bought ones. First couple bites, I thought not so bad.. but then could hardly finish..

@Luvs2Bake: Love your user name! :) Thank you so much for your insight it is not only helpful but also reassuring. After multiple trips to ER, an endoscopy and various trips to other general practitioners and GI's - no one seems to be able to have slightest clue. Recently switched docs and she is one who suggested it could be gluten. So frustrating. Yes, please send me your email, I would love to hear more. Thanks!!
