Ummm... Hi. I try to cook healthy light meals. This website is awesome; I come here every week for new recipe ideas.
My favorite things to cook
I like to make special romantic meals for my husband such as eggplant parmesan or maple orange chicken.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I like the ethnic treats my mom baked: pfefernusse, russian tea cakes, danish almond puff. As well as these favorites from my childhood: shepherd's pie, cheese bread, johnny cake.
My cooking triumphs
I finally mastered perfect tender, silky eggplant!
My cooking tragedies
My attempts at chinese cuisine are disappointing. I'd love to master stir fried tofu and make authentic tasting lo mein, egg fu yong, hoisen sauce etc...

Apricot Ginger Game Hens
This recipe was pretty tasty. I used boneless skinless chicken breasts instead of game hens, and my husband loved it. Next time, I think I will bread the chicken after it has been soaked in the sauce, though, for a more intense flavor. I also served this over jasmine rice mixed with apricot preserves and minced ginger. This recipe is a keeper. ; )

Lemon Mustard Chicken

Sweet Mustard Chicken Bake
I halved the butter as others did. Also, I made one piece of chicken without breading (as the recipe dictates) and the sauce just ran all over the pan and did not really penetrate to flavor the chicken much. I coated the other pieces of chicken with the sauce and then rolled them in bread crumbs. This locked the flavor in and turned out wonderfully. My husband loved it!
