Pineapple Stuffing

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
I am not good at making stuffing but this was SO simple and SO easy, how could you mess it up? I did cut the sugar in half and used a 1/4 cup brown and 1/4 cup regular white sugar. I did sprinkle the top with pumpkin pie spice as another reviewer suggested. My family went CRAZY over this! It will definately be a well used recipe from now on. Thank you for sharing!

Eggnog Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
I turned these into waffles to like another reviewer did but halved the baking powder and added cinnamon & fresh ground nutmet + 2 tsp of rum. They were good but didn't have the flavor I was hoping for with all that eggnog. Will have to play with recipe to make it better but its a good start.

McCormick® Gingerbread Men Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2011
When I was younger I didn't care for gingerbread cookies but for some reason I wanted to try them this year (I'm 43 now). I stumbled on this recipe and made them-OMG, so easy and so yummy! I had no problems rolling and cutting out this dough. They are moist and delicious and I loved decorating them! I'd give them more stars if I could. Definately will be making these more often!

Banana Muffins II

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2011
My first review, which I removed, only gave these 3 stars but after these cooled and sat overnight, they were spectacular. I really couldn't taste a strong banana flavor when they were hot out of the oven, but that changed once they sat. I just made another tin full tonight to use up the rest of my bananas. Thanks for a great recipe. Will use over and over again! :)

Hot Cocoa Mix in a Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2010
This was very watery tasting so I added another box of chocolate fudge pudding mix (the smaller box size), more cocoa, more powdered drink mix, alot more powdered milk and creamer. Then it tasted like something. Still wish it was a bit richer. Will have to keep playing with it to get it where it needs to be.

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
This stuff is awesome! I made 6 mini loaves of this yesterday and my son consumed almost an entire one by himself. Its spot on with the ingredients and I did as one viewer suggested by baking at 325 instead of 350-came out perfect. Thanks for this recipe that is going to be a family favorite from here on in!

Baked Kale Chips

Ok, these things are totally addictive and delicious! I put a parmesan herb seasoning on these and I could eat the whole batch myself. Thanks for this fantastic, healthy recipe!

Banana Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
I agree with previous reviews--this bread just will not bake all the way through. I even cooked it 25 min more than called for and the bottom was still goopy. I also did not care for the taste of the bread--very heavy, dense tasting. I ended up throwing most of it away.

Lentil Barley Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
Very, very good soup! I didn't have the veggie soup mix so used veggie bouillon cubes. Subbed olive oil for margerine for personal preference and this is a really great soup. Will use this recipe often. Such a good flavor. Thank you!

Cheddar Garlic Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
These were simple, fantastic, and yummy! My son said they tasted just like Red Lobster biscuits! I used a small box of the Jiffy buttermilk biscuit mix which is the perfect amount for recipe. Will be making this recipe for years to come. Thanks a million!

Shrimp Scampi Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
This was the first time I had shrimp scampi and it was really good! I even left out the dijon by accidents and it still tasted yummy with all the butter & garlic. (Next time will put mustard in--was crazy night at home when I made this first time) Served over lightly buttered & salted angel hair pasta with cheddar garlic biscuit recipe from this site and it was like being at Red Lobster. Thanks for a great new meal idea.!

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
I had no trouble with this recipe--just didn't add all the frosting--about half or little over of the can. It came out perfect. I broke the cake up into a stainless steel bowl, added frosting and used a stainless steel spoon to press & mix the frosting into the cake. Used a cookie scoop to form similar sized balls, rolled and put on wax paper. Froze for about 30 min and dipped into melted chocolate chips with a tbls or two of shortening to thin out. Everything worked perfectly and they are delicious! I used chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate chips. YUMMY~!

Southwestern Chicken Barley Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
I didn't think this had a lot of flavor because all I could taste was the chili powder--go light on this until you get your taste right or you will be disappointed. Just seemed like it was missing something. ***UPDATE --after writing review I added a vegetable bouillon cube and half of a cilantro flavored one--this seemed to give it a wonderful flavor. Also did as other suggested and topped with cheddar cheese--Yummo. I have upgraded to four stars after making these changes. Thank you.

Ravioli Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
This was fast & easy but seemed to be lacking something. I didn't have mushrooms but did add in some diced fresh tomatoes. Also have a grinder with lemon/pepper seasoning so put a few grinds of that in to perk up. Put in about a tbls of soy and four cans of extra broth to make it more soup-like. Put in three cloves of fresh garlic and a few shakes of onion powder. This seemed to perk it up a bit. At the table I shook on some parmesan cheese and this gave it alot of flavor. I'm wondering how this would be if we left out the peas and added in more chopped tomatoes and lima beans. Will try and post if good later. Thanks for a pretty good recipe.

Spinach Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
This was good but yet lacking something at the same time. I couldn't imagine making this with only two cans of broth--I used four and it was just about right. I added a couple of cloves of minced garlic, grated carrot and a bay leaf to broth and let simmer for about 10-12 min. Then I added spinach, then tortellini & simmered about 10 min. It was good but I feel it needs something else to make it really pop. It is good for something quick and easy. Thanks for sharing.

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Husband said these tasted like a bakery style cookie--so nice and soft! He likes his usually a little crunchy but had no problem eating these. I am not a peanut butter cookie fan but sampled a small piece and tasted pretty good! I would highly recommend!

Cherry Snowballs

These were delicious! Very fast, easy and yummy. The only thing I would suggest is to use a scant tablespoon per ball cause I used a full tablespoon and ran short by about 6. I will add these to my Christmas baking list from now on! Thanks!!!!!!!

Mum's Irish Apple Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
To me the pie was just ok but I must add I only used one stick of butter--two seemed like a lot to me. The bottom crust came out soggy and I think it was because the temp of the oven was so low.(But could have been the lack of the rest of the butter) I did like the way the crust rolled out and handled but didn't feel it was anything special. I will stick with my usual recipe which is the french pastry pie crust from this site. For my own taste, I prefer this one better. Thank you.

Pie Crust Mix

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
I used shortening with mine only because I have family members that do not eat lard. It came out pretty good--I had to add a little more flour though since the consistancy was a little different. Haven't actually eaten the pie yet but it rolled out fairly well and looks really good. Will repost rating on how it taste at later time. Thanks for the short-cut.
