St. Louis Toasted Ravioli

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2006
Should have read the reviews before starting this.....First, my oil was too hot. Second, I should have double breaded. I loved the idea of this recipe but I didn't get enough breading and these turned out more like crispy wontons. I am going to try again and look at using some spinach ravioli. I bet that would be great. Otherwise, it was simple to prepare, that's why a 4.

Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2006
Very simple to prepare and it was devoured by my family. Used an Oreo chocolate crust instead of a pie crust and added the whipped cream. Topped with some crushed Oreos as a decorative touch.

Wild Rice Casserole II

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2006
Not bad but not really very different. Left out the water chestnuts as I didn't have any. Went pretty well with a stuffed chicken dish.

I agree with the previous reviewer that this is like a Bernaise sauce. Very nice, put on a grilled filet mignon.

Chunky Bacon and Potato Soup

This was a very tasty and easy to prepare recipe. You cannot ask for anything better than that. I left out the leek and instead used shallots.

Richard's Breakfast Scramble

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2006
Tasty combination. Added diced green pepper and used frozen diced onions as a timesaver. I do think the timing is off a bit because eggs shouldn't have to be cooked for 10-15 minutes as the recipe stated. Mine were done in a just a couple of minutes.

Very good muffin. I took the suggestion of adding some cheddar cheese to the mix. Went well with a pot of chili.

Fast Chicken Soup Base

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2006
Used boneless, skinless chicken breasts instead of the roast chicken but the flavor was still pretty darn good. The house smelled so good. Good base. Used celery seed instead of chopped celery and frozen chopped onion as a timesaver.

Chicken Tortellini Soup With Zucchini and Tomatoes

Nice little recipe for a cold night. Added a little bit extra in the way of seasonings, red wine, two cans of tomatoes instead of one and dried oregano.

Mashed Potato Miracle

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2006
I modified this recipe a bit. Used a package of instant potatoes from Costco and used skim milk, butter and heavy cream as well as sour cream, salt, pepper, fresh garlic etc. Kept adding this and that until I got it the way that I wanted. Merely topped the potatoes with the french fried onions. The leftovers are going in the oven with some cheese and more of the FF onions. Overall, I was pretty happy with this recipe because it was something different.

KOOL-AID® Lemonade-Iced Tea

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2006
This worked out pretty well. I didn't use Splenda and used regular sugar instead, making it into a simple syrup. I didn't have any lemons or lemon juice so this worked in that regard.
