Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
I have made this recipe for several years now. I have never cut back on the sugar until this year and honestly it is still very good with just a 1/2 cup. I make this recipe every year to go with our New years tradition... Black-eyed peas and mexican corn bread. So good!!!!!!!! You must try it! Tammy

Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
I have tasted many of these cookies over the years at cookie swaps etc... They are beautiful... BUT... I have never really liked them because they were always dry tasting. So this year I decided I would make an attempt at making this cookie for my Christmas parties. After mixing up the dough as written my dough was very thick and very dry. I panicked because I didn't want a dry cookie so I changed up the recipe a little. I am very pleased with the end results. I came up with the following. I added almond flavoring in place of vanilla. I added about a 1/2c. or so of cherry juice to the batter. I didn't measure. The batter was really dry before I added the cherry juice. Now my dough is sticky! Then I used a small stainless steel scoop and made little chocolate mounds on my cookie sheet. Then I pushed a cherry in the top. When pushing the cherry it flattens the mound a tiny bit. I crossed my fingers that they hold their shape while baking and didn't run everywhere. Wha-la!!!! They were perfect! I let them cool a little on the stone I cooked them on, then transfered to a cooling rack. When completely cooled I made the icing. I did add cherry juice to it as well probably a 1/4 to 1/2 cup. I didn't measure. The icing was still a good consistency, not runny. I poured it into a squeeze bottle after I melted the icing ingredients on my stove top. It was very easy to drizzle the icing on my cookies using a squeeze bottle. The end result was fantastic. They look beautiful. They are mo

Warm and Spicy Autumn Punch

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
This punch was so GOOOOOOD! I followed the recipe to the T. The only thing I did was made a double batch. Which I would reccomend doing to begin with. I served it at my bunko party last night. I live in The Netherlands at the moment. The air was cool and crisp last night. It was a perfect evening for warm punch. The punch color was a fall yellow which was also perfect for last night. The ladies drank every bit and would have drank more. This was a huge hit. There was not one bottle of wine opened last night. That never happens. Yippee! I will use this recipe again. As some of the viewers have stated this recipe as endless options. Might try canberry jiuce next time or add red hot candies for and added kick. Only probelm with that I cant get red hots in this country. Ugh!!! Got to plan ahead and pack them in my suitcase when home next time.

Double Chocolate Cherry Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2006
I made these cookies for a Christmas cookie exchange party! They are great! I used a 1 inch scoop/baller. When the cookies were done baking I had perfectly round 2 inch cookies. Warning::: This recipe made exactly 72. If you are counting on 72 cookies there is no extra dough for nibbling on. I needed exactly 72... Phew!!!! These are really really good cookies. My friends all loved them. How could you ever go wrong with eagle brand recipes???? This is a keeper in my book!

Pierogi (Polish Dumplings)

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2006
OMG! This is a must have dish when my friends and I go to Poland to buy Polish pottery. We actually were in Poland in 2 weeks ago. We always stop and have Pierogis at least once. This time we actually had the hotel where we stayed at make us some fresh pierogis to take home. We each brought back a batch that was stuffed with cheese and potatos and another batch was stuffed with pork. Yum-Yum! Family loved them. This recipe is great! Very easy if you have a pampered chef cut and seal. It does it all in one step. I prefer the small cut and seal for pierogis. Once they are all made I boil them first, then drain very well... then pan fry in a little butter. I cook onions on the side for those who want to add them. However in Poland I have never had them pan fried. My order has never come fried. I do like pan fried pierogis a little better. My favorite stuffing I think is still the potato and cheese. BUT !!!! This one is also very good. Definitely worth trying. The stuffing option is endless.... The thought of pierogis makes me want to plan another shopping trip soon. YIKES! Thanks! for a great recipe

Raw Vegetable Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2005
My new year’s resolution is to fix all new recipes for dinner. So far so good…. This recipe is a delicious new addition for this year. I took this salad to a pot luck dinner last night. It was a big hit! The only change.... I used Splenda in place of reg. sugar. I hate cauliflower but gobbled it down in this recipe. Yum- Yum! I will be making this again.

I cooked this tonight and it was great. I looked at the reviews before making and I ommitted the water and used an Enchilada sauce for the topping in stead of the taco sauce,it turned out fantastic. I have three very picky eaters in my house and this was a hit. Very kid friendly. I give it 5 stars all the way around
