About this Cook
Wife to one great husband, mom to two pretty good Chihuahuas, Moya and Lucy. I am "retired" as my hubby says; though in reality on disability for a rare brain disease called Moya Moya. (guess where my dog's name came from?)
My favorite things to cook
Roasted vegetable lasagna with or without noodles; a dish that is inspired by Greek spinach pie made with ground chicken; spaghetti "hotdish" or for anyone not from the Midwest climes, casserole.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Grandma's pierogies, kluski (potato dumplings cooked in sauteed butter and onion YUM!, Russian teacakes for my husband at Christmas, his favorite and in memory of his dear mother.
My cooking triumphs
The Greek Spinach Pie that our best man declared "the best thing you ever made!"
My cooking tragedies
Just not being able to actually make something before the ingredients I specifically bought for a dish go bad. Happens more often than I care to admit.

Cranberry Sauce Extraordinaire
I made this last year for Thanksgiving and even my sister, who HATES cranberries, LOVED this. I followed the notes of the person who posted the recipe, since I too am diabetic, although I used the whole pear and whole apple, and all the nuts. YUMMY! This year I'm making a double batch - my sister thought this would make an excellent topping for ice cream!
