very nice, easy recipe. easy to variate the berries you like or in season. I added a little bit of vanilla, a touch of cinnamon & a touch of nutmeg to the berry mixture, and used my fresh raspberries from the yard, blackberries & blueberries were frozen and it was delicious. I did add about a tablespoon of Minute Tapioca to the berry mixture to thicken it a bit as frozen berries can be a little watery. I used rolled oats the first time and it was a little "chewy??", then tried it again and used quick oats, fresh sliced apples & cinnamon (for an apple crisp) and it was much better the quick oats did not overwhelm the "crisp topping" as the rolled oats did. I did find that when I used it for the Apple Crisp the bottom soaked up too much of the juice so if you use it with Apples only, either make a very thin bottom layer, or (like I will in the future) only use it for a crisp topping, this did not happen with the berries, they had plenty of juice with a bottom and top crisp layer. As usual practice and experment to find what works for you. Like I said this recipe is versatile, use whatever fruit/berry you like, it works.
