Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
I was leary about making this and didn't expect much. I had leftover Chinese noodles and needed a recipe to get rid of them. I made this and it was awesome. I used Super chuck peanut butter so the consistency was nice with that little added crunch. I will make this one again!

Roasted Greek Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2015
This was really nice. I made it with a greek pasta salad and was happy with the pairing. My only complaint is that there was a little too much lemon and a not quite enough salt. I would cut back to 3 lemons. Instead of rubbing down the chicken and then applying the "marinade" I put it all in a large mixing bowl and stirred to coat well.

Beef Bulgogi

The whole family loved it! I took the suggestions offered and substituted the white sugar for brown sugar and added some red pepper flakes for spice. I will certainly make this again.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
Just made these and they are great. The cookie is soft and moist with a nice flavor. I had to use water as I didn't have any OJ but next time I make these I will give that a try. BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVERBAKE!! I was tempted to leave my cookies in longer than 9 minutes but made myself pull them out and I am glad. Although the cookies may not seem done at first they quickly set while cooling. Another important tip make the balls small!! I rolled out about 1 inch balls and the cookies turned out huge. I have another batch in the oven now and these I made smaller (don't forget to press down otherwise they turn out fluffy). I also took the advice of another reviewer and dropped the dough into a bowl with the extra sugar rolled it around in there and it made rolling the balls nice and easy with little mess. Lastly I am curious if the flavor would be better with a dark brown sugar or even light brown sugar rather than white, gonna have to try that too. Thanks :)

My Country Style Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
Nice down home recipe. I made this recipe exactly as stated except for I had an onion dip mix packet so I used that and added extra pepper. I was worried because there was little to no juice in the pan (even though I cooked the meat on medium) so I added a tbsp of water when I added the flour and onion mixture. This created no problem. The meat turned out tender and the gravy was tasty. I look forward to making this again.

So easy to make and so good. I added some garlic powder to the batter as suggested by another reviewer and then brushed some melted garlic butter on top and they were great!

Prego® Now and Later Baked Ziti

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
Loved the simplicity of this recipe, I used it as a base and then added my own mixture of spices. I added extra cheese and used a mixed blend of cheese for optimal flavor. I will certainly make this again most likely a spicy version using Italian sausage and extra spices for zest.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
Great starting point for a potato soup. I made it as directed and really like it. I think with a little tweaking I can make it more to my liking and look forward to making this again most likely with some bacon and cheese for a garnish.

Flat Iron Steak with Balsamic Reduction

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2010
I will certainly make this again. I made this per the recipe but I recommend brushing the steak with olive oil and coating with peppercorns and salt then let it sit in the fridge for an hour or more prior to cooking. I have made several pepper steaks and I find that letting them "marinate" for some time helps. The balsamic vinegar sure smelled potent during and directly after cooking but it tasted just fine on the steak. Thanks

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
Loved this cookie. I am a huge fan of Snickerdoodles and was excited to make this cookie. I made the cookie per the recipe and my cookies didn't turn out flat but I felt they did need more sugar and cinnamon topping. I would recommend as others have doubling the cinnamon and sugar topping. Overall great recipe.

Black Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
Made this tonight for the family and they loved it. I took the suggestions of others and added 1 tsp of cumin, subbed the onion, peppers and tomato sauce for chunky salsa and used whole grain rice instead of long grain rice. I tasted this as I cooked and added additional ground pepper, red pepper and salt to taste. Really great dish this way.

Slow Cooker Thai Peanut Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
Made this tonight and turned out wonderful. I basted the pork loin throughout the day and loved the flavor of this dish. I omitted the bell pepper and the green onion as I had none and frankly didn't miss it. Will keep this one and make again!

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2015
This recipe deserves all five stars! These were the best "Homemade" wings I have ever had even though I was a little short on the sauce. I followed other reviewers advice and kept them in the fridge the whole 90 minutes. I do recommend rolling each one in the "batter" individually to get a nice through even coating, at first I tried sprinkling it over top like the recipe says but you don't get the entire wing coated. The only change I made was to use minced garlic vs the powder. This one is a keeper.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
Oh my god, I made this cake tonight using a fudge marble cake with Butterscotch pudding and 1 cup Butterscotch chips and 1 cup Chocolate chips. I was scared when the cake started to cool and the edges felt a little hard not to mention the fact that the cake felt like a 10 lb cake but it was super dense and moist too. I will certainly make this cake again and try several different variations!

Best Black Beans

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
Absolutely awesome. I like black beans alot but wanted a tasty way to make them as a side dish with a Mexican dinner. My problem with black beans is that they tend to be bland and it can be hard to serve them by themselves and have them taste good too. I found this recipe and gave it a try, it made all the difference in the world. I will certainly make this again.

Mexican-Style Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 9, 2011
Made this for dinner the other night and it was wonderful. I made a few changes though. I substitdiced the tomato soup for diced tomatoes with green chilies and the kidney beans for black beans. I omitted the olives and cooked the rice on the side. I also added crushed red pepper, Cilantro paste, a red and black pepper blend and a new orleans spice mix. I will make again using my subs.

Great soup and easy to make. I made this using Chicken broth instead of Vegetable and put a large dash of Creole seasoning. This turned out really good. Will make again.

Oven-Fried Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
Made this recipe last night. I needed a pork chop recipe with a short cooking time and found this one. The pork chops turned out flavorful and juicy. I varied the recipe slightly. I omitted the butter and used butter spray to grease the pan, I added salt, Mrs. Dash and a good amount of Italian seasoning to the Progresso Parmesan flavored bread crumbs I used. Thanks for the recipe it was a healthy alternative to breading and frying.
