About this Cook
I'm a new mother of a now 12 month old baby girl, and am currently trying to juggle family with a full-time job. I had hoped to get Carpe Culinae up within the last two years, but due to financial constraints have been unable to do so. I am working on a recipe compilation for my teenage step-son to learn how to survive on his own with. I grew up on the Pac NW coast, so love seafood in practically all its forms. I also grew up in dairy and beef country, so I adore those as well.
My favorite things to cook
I love to try anything, and am always "doodling" in the kitchen. I tend toward stir frys and asian cooking mostly as it's quick and healthy, but I'm a serious pasta girl at heart. Favorite things include homemade spaghetti, anything with chicken in it, steak, stroganoff, salmon, and crab,
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking teriyaki chicken with rice, easy stroganoff with noodles, and homemade spaghetti. Also all our home-grown veggies. Yum!
My cooking triumphs
Catering (by myself) a wedding reception for 75 people and pulling it off. SW chicken egg rolls, stuffed profiteroles, and veggie and cheese plates. Currently working on a website of recipes at http://a-foodies-delight.blogspot.com/
My cooking tragedies
There are so many... *chuckle* Mostly under the gentle hand of my instructors at Western Culinary.

April's Deviled Eggs
I didn't have mayo, so substituted Dijonaisse. It turned out to be a great alternative to my original recipe. I'd do it again.
