Spaghetti Squash Medley

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2007
I tried this recipe but found it had very little taste. I took small spoons full in little bowls and tried adding an ingredient to give it flavor, but did not find anything that made it great. I tried Italian dressing, next I tried oregano, then beef broth, even extra salt. Nothing I tried made it something I wanted to try again.

Spinach Salad With Ease

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2007
This recipe was fast and easy, but tasted oily and sour. I needed it right away for a funeral dinner at church, so had to improvise. I added Italian dressing and it was then fantastic! I also boiled eggs and sliced them to decorate the dish for serving. Great use of fresh spinach! Thanks.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2005
My husband liked it, but I thought it was very cream cheesy tasting. When I added the cheese, there was about 1 minute when the mix turned slimy and stretched out on the spoon. I was concerned it was ruined! But I kept cooking, and within another minute or two, the cheese melted and it was a wonderful consistency. I used an electric mixer to make it very smooth before serving and remove a couple of lumps. I will probably make again, but will only use about half as much cream cheese so it does not dominate the flavor. I added a little lemon juice and nutmeg to try to change the flavor, but it still tasted like melted cream cheese to me.

Shepherd's Pie

I useda can of mushroom barley soup instead of cream of celery. I also added some sliced fresh carrots, sauted onion, and a few spices. I added some paprika and bacon bits to the potatoes, and some chives and velveeta. It was yummy! Everybody liked it very much. I also used some Mrs. Dash seasoning in the meat mixture. Thanks for a great recipe. Versatile to play around with, yet quick and delicious.

I tried it, but it wasnt special or even very good. However, I admit I am finicky about pizza sauce.

Crab Quiche I

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2003
I did not have crab meat, but I did have frozen imitation lobster delights, so I used the whole package (16 oz). I had to improvise tonight, it was snowing hard, so I didnt want to go to the store, and I didnt have a pie crust, so I used a can of cresents rolled out to make a crust. I used shredded cheddar and mozzarella. For seasoning, I also used a little Mrs. Dash, some Louisiana hot sauce, garlic and salt. Instead of flour, I used Italian bread crumbs for flavor. Once I had it all poured in the pie pan,, it was a little dry because I didnt use the mayo. So I whipped up two extra eggs with a little garlic powder and salt, and poured on top to cover. It was wonderful! My husband said it was very different and very delicious!!!

Chicken Enchiladas II

This recipe was wonderful. It was mild, not Tex-Mex. I made it for a family get together, and everyone (whether they liked Mexican or not) liked this recipe.

Roasted Garlic Cauliflower

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2003
Wow! This was really good. I made some changes that my husband loved. I added some grated carrots, sliced mushrooms, and some leeks chopped small. Also, I stirred in the parmesan cheese and (dried, didnt have fresh) parsley before baking, then I added 3 Tablespoons of milk (with a sprinkle of seasoning salt), and stirred every 10 minutes. When cooked, I sprinkled mozzarella cheese over the top and broiled. It was fabulous!
