Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2013
YUCK, this was terrible. I tried it because it looked easy. 2 tubes of biscuits is way too much. I will never make this again. Besides this is crazy unhealthy .

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2013
These were very good! I will make these again however they are very close to the recipee I use which is easier. 1 cup buttermilk, 1 egg, 1TBS oil, 1C. flour, 1TBS sugar, 1/2 tsp soda, 1/4 tsp salt. Milk and vinegar is the substitution for buttermilk. I will still use my recipee for school mornings but this is a great one when I am out of buttermilk!

David's Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2013
First let me say I am not a baker! That being said these turned out great! I made them exactly as written and used others tips to make sure I beat the sugar and butter well, several minutes. There is a tutorial video on these and it may help to watch it first if you are a novice baker. I actually made cupcakes out of it and got roughly 20, I baked them at 350 for 18 minutes and then checked so I didn't overtake them. I don't think I will ever use a box mix again because this just tastes so much better!!!!

Ruby Red Layered Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2011
This was awesome! The only change I made was to use frozen strawberries that I chopped up instead of raspberries because thats all I had on hand, and pineapple tidbits instead of crushed. I liked that I just made it in a glass bowl and let people spoon some out vs. a mold cause I can never get a jello mold to come out nice!

Ham Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
I thought this was pretty good. I gave it 5 stars because of how easy it was and its a good one for putting your own twists on. Great for a busy weeknight. I did change some things based on what others said and it was actually great with the changes. I douubled the recipee and used 4 cloves of fresh garlic and 8 ounces fresh mushrooms which I sauted with the onions. I used a full 2 cups of shereded mozerella and provelone cheese. (It was what I had on hand) I omited the pimento and instead added a 16oz bag of chopped mixed veggies. Instead of water I used chicken broth and added just a tad more than the recipee called for. I also used the whole 16oz box of spaghetti. I used ham, but i bet chicken or turkey would be good too. Thanks for such a great recipee.

Dill Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2010
This was great!!! I used only 1/2 tsp salt as other reviewers suggested, I thought that was a perfect amount. I made the full recipe and I won't do that again. I made it as a dip for veggies for a huge party and not even half went! A full recipe is way to much 1/2 is the way to go. Plus make it the night before, easier that way and it tastes lots better!

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: May 6, 2010
I thought this was great so did my husband and 7 year old. I took the advise of others and I used low sodium cream soup to cut down on the salt. I used roasted garlic bread crumbs too. I used one can of cream of mushroom soup and one can of golden mushroom soup. I think it made richer gravy. Great weeknight meal!!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
This was pretty good I didn't think 5 stars though. I would make it agian as it is quick and easy for sure however next time I will try adding potato flakes like others did as the soup was thin, and I think I will add cheese to the milk sauce to give more flavor.

Easy Vodka Sauce

Very Good. I served it with Penne and baked chicken breast. I used Italian Style cushed tomatoes as other reviewers stated thay added italian spices and I wanted to save time. I also added fresh minced garlic and a little grated parmesan cheese. I will be making this again maybe with italian sausage next time.

Manicotti Italian Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2008
Very Good. I did not put pepproni on it as we do not care for it. I put in sauted green pepper in and I shredded the mozereela from two blocks (not fresh) of it, it seems to taste better than what comes in a bag. I also used two jars of 26 ounce sauce and it was just right.

German Red Cabbage

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
Awesome! I made this for christmas dinner as I had to make my vegetable on the stove as my oven was already stuffed. I did not use the cheese cloth I just put everything in the pan and fished it out at the end. I had to use a little more cornstarch to get mine the thickness I wanted it. My mother in law said it tasted just as good as her very German mother in law used to make so I guess that means its just not me who thinks its good.

Butter Snow Flakes

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
These were very good but I do prefer the taste of the more buttery traditonal spritz. the flavor of the oranje zest came out alot and did give it a good taste. I did add 8 ounces of cream cheese like the other reviewes did and that seemed to work great.

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2007
I thought that this was great. I did add a packet of taco seasoning and instead of the 4 oz can of chili's I just got a 14 oz can of diced tomatoes with chili's. I put 1/2 of the taco sauce in the meat mixture and the other half on the bottom of the pan. I also put a double layer of burrito shells in for each layer. We put both sour cream and salsa on the top when served and it was great. Easy too. It makes alot and I froze the leftovers and I think they tasted even better when it was reheated after freezing!!!
