About this Cook
I am more than full time working mother of one. I enjoy cooking very much but have very little time to do so. Even so I instist on sit down family meals every night so quick and easy are great!!!
My favorite things to cook
There isn't anything that I don't like to cook, I tend to try a little bit of everything! Now if my family likes to eat it, that is the challenge.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Starting to share my knowledge with my young daughter and hoping she will grow up enjoying from scratch cooking.
My cooking triumphs
We had a german exchange student live with us for a while and she had the idea before coming here that all americans ate nothing but fast food. At the end of the stay she wanted every recipe I made and told me I had totally changed her mind as she had no fast food with us.
My cooking tragedies
The only one I can remember is substituting salt for sugar in a breakfast dish that I made before my daughter could even talk. It was violently spit out!!!!!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
YUCK, this was terrible. I tried it because it looked easy. 2 tubes of biscuits is way too much. I will never make this again. Besides this is crazy unhealthy .

Fluffy Pancakes
These were very good! I will make these again however they are very close to the recipee I use which is easier. 1 cup buttermilk, 1 egg, 1TBS oil, 1C. flour, 1TBS sugar, 1/2 tsp soda, 1/4 tsp salt. Milk and vinegar is the substitution for buttermilk. I will still use my recipee for school mornings but this is a great one when I am out of buttermilk!

David's Yellow Cake
First let me say I am not a baker! That being said these turned out great! I made them exactly as written and used others tips to make sure I beat the sugar and butter well, several minutes. There is a tutorial video on these and it may help to watch it first if you are a novice baker. I actually made cupcakes out of it and got roughly 20, I baked them at 350 for 18 minutes and then checked so I didn't overtake them. I don't think I will ever use a box mix again because this just tastes so much better!!!!
