Valentine's Evening

Saturday February 11th, my husband and I were able to get away from the kids. He gave me the nicest card and took me out for Thai Food. Then we went to see 'The Vow' which is a love story that is based off a real one. It is about a couple that shares an incredible once in a lifetime love but then they get into a car accident and she forgets everything past her college years and they have to relearn their love together. To my husband it was nice but too serious for his liking. To me it is up there with 'The Notebook' and is something you should see if you like sappy love stories. It was a nice evening and the fact that he went to a sappy movie with me says it all.

"The Vow" - Now Playing

Monday Feb 13th, we took my mom out to Olive Garden for Valentines Day and I unknowingly received another V-day card from my husband and this time my children as well. It was a card telling me I am a great, appreciated mom and Valentines Day is just another chance to tell me they love me. It was very unexpected and highly appreciated. I sure love my family.

I wake up to a great start February 14th. My husband was very sweet and the kids were asking us to be their Valentines. Of course I told them 'YES!' Then it was off to school for the children (preschool, my kids are 3 &4) who were having a Valentines Day party. My husband and I just spent the day together in town until it was time to pick up from school. Once home my husband leaves for work and then it becomes my turn to put everything together. See, my husband thinks of Valentines Day as a day for girls to feel appreciated and I see it as a day for two to be forced to rekindle a spark or for busy parents to get a chance to enjoy alone time for a moment (totally our case). In other words, he wasn't expecting anything in return. <3

I run to the grocery store and try to get in and out as soon as possible as I know this was going to be a non-stop day. YES! Filet Minion is on sale as well as Gorgonzola cheese!! Once home, I do the normal routine, cook, bathe children, then off to bed. Its 8:30pm and my husband is home at 11:30pm. I clean up the house, do the dishes, and vacuum. I then prepare Filet Mignon with Gorgonzola Cream Sauce on the grill while my prosciutto wrapped asparagus and Roasted Potatoes with Rosemary cook in the oven. Then I remember the Bacon Roses that a AllRecipes Allstar shared with me and quickly pop that into the oven.

Amazingly, everything was finished and ready at the same time my husband comes walking in the door. It was a wonderful night and I hope your Valentines Day(s) were joyful and in good company.
