Hosting a Halloween Party

You heard right. I have taken on the daunting task of hosting a Halloween party. I created a menu of all the food I will be creating which I linked below. One of the recipes I included is my favorite recipe for a really flaky biscuit. I will cut those into pumpkins before baking.

I am really scared about my party. We bought all the groceries today and I'm leaving home again to find him a Halloween costume. Do you feel to grown-up to dress up? If you answer no then please comment what your going to dress up as. My answer is yes. I do feel to old to dress up but I also feel to old to do a lot of things. My children would be so upset if I didn't though and what kind of host would I be to have a Halloween party and not dress up myself?!

I came across some fairy wings at Jo-Ann's fabrics on clearance for $10 and I realized that I have several green dresses to choose from. Add some glitter and a hair tie and hello Tinkerbell! My girls will think I'm so cool! :) My husband's outfit hasn't been located yet but I am looking for a long sleeved green shirt to rip up and add a shoe lace to and voila! he's Peter Pan.

Back to the food, have you seen this hand in a punch bowl idea? All you have to do is use a vinyl glove, a box of gelatin, and your favorite punch mix. Assemble ingredients and freeze the glove to get a spooky punch. Who thinks of this stuff? I love it! Know of any other cool Halloween ideas or decorations? Please post it below!

Good luck on your party...you just might need it! I planned one last year for my daughter...had about 15 kids total (phew! that was a lot of work!) and they had a blast! Was planning to have one this year, but just got caught up with everything that I didn't get it all planned out. Oh well, next year! By the way, you're definitely NOT too old to dress up! Lol. I'm 30, and still do it for my daughter. Yes, I feel a little silly doing it, but it brings a smile to her face and she so looks forward to it. Every year, the last few Halloweens, she has made me dress up to match her. I've been a butterfly, a vampire, a GIANT oversized bumblebee (that one was horrible!), and a few other things. Actually, this year is a first that I won't be dressing up! She's a Monarch Butterfly...and if you could only see the adult costume for that! The neighbors might not appreciate it...but my fiance sure would!! Definitely inappropriate...so I get out of it this year, but there's always next year...just like the party. Anyway, have fun "Tink" :)

A deep woods hick. (That's me! No need for a costume!) We are going to be with our son and his family and the fare will be a "Mexican Buffet" for convenient eat and run. We don't expect to have any time for a sit down meal so this will work out nicely.
