I love this recipe! It's great as is but whenever I buy a bone-in ham I make a stock from the ham bone and use that instead of the water and chicken bouillon. I just roast the bone in the oven for an hour and throw it in the crockpot with onions, carrots, celery, s + p and water. It's best if you let it simmer overnight. Using the homemade stock I find that I don't need any other flavors or seasonings and it's always a HUGE hit. Thanks for the great recipe post!
