Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
This sauce is VERY good. Do NOT omit the anchovy paste. I added a bit of extra cayenne pepper and all my roommates raved about the sauce!

Brick-Oven Pizza (Brooklyn Style)

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
This was really good. I used a homemade sauce and different toppings, I pretty much just used this recipe for the crust. The first pie came out too doughy, even though the cheese on the top was a little burnt. With the second pie, I put just the dough and pizza sauce in the oven for about 2.5 minutes, then took it out and added toppings, and put it back in, and it turned out perfect.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
Not bad, but a little cakey. I'm gonna try it again and use more butter maybe and maybe a little more sugar, and slightly less flour? I don't know, I'm new to baking. The cakey quality overpowered some of the other parts.

Coconut Syrup

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
A little sweet, but all I could find was sweetened coconut. With sweetened coconut, I'd use more coconut milk, and about 2/3rds the amount of sugar, which I'll try next time I make it. Other than that the reason this gets 4 stars is for the texture with the coconut pieces, which limits it's uses as a syrup a bit. Next time I'll put it through the blender and see what happens. I made this with buttery crepes, and the taste was pretty gorgeous.

Basic Crepes

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2010
Very good! I've never made crepe before but these turned out perfect. I added an extra tablespoon of butter, cause I like stuff buttery, but overall this was excellent.

Deep Fried Brie

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2010
This was pretty good. I added a pinch of italian seasoning and basil to the egg mixture, as well as the pepper and salt. Would be better with a different type of cheese, but I'll definitely make the egg mixture/breading again for other cheeses. Make sure you press the cheese into the bread crumbs really good on all 6 sides of the cube, otherwise the breading can tend to fall off a bit.

Three Cheese Manicotti

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
Very good. I added some aged white cheddar in there to make it a 4 cheese manicotti, because I didn't buy enough mozzarella, and it was still awesome. I also made my own pasta sauce with all fresh ingredients, and I think that definitely helped. Will make again very soon!
