I've recently decided to make a career change (I had a career?) and try to move into food production and advocacy.
Vote with your forks, folks! Buy and eat local!
My favorite things to cook
I love grains! I really like to cook up amaranth or wheat berries as a hot cereal, add some honey and fruit and chow down.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The first thing I ever learned to cook was boxed macaroni & cheese with my great-grandma. It was a great and easy way to get a 4 year old to start a life-long passion for food, even if that passion has morphed many times over the years, scaling from pure convenience food to vegan to somewhere in the middle (but as local as possible).
My cooking triumphs
Apple pie praised as being "better than my mother's", this coming from my honey, whom LOVES his mom's cooking.
My cooking tragedies
I'm horribly clutzy and so have more cuts, burns, and spilled goods than I would really like to admit to... (now I have a four-legged vacuum... I mean dog)
