I followed the advice of the reviewers who used the microwave; I was skeptical at first, especially since after the first three minutes the custard was still very liquidy. It took an extra minute, but it was perfect. What a pleasant surprise - thanks for sharing the tip! I tasted a slice before it had completely chilled - mistake. Now that it has chilled overnight, it is wonderful - perfectly sweet and creamy (before it had thoroughly chilled, it was eggy and not very sweet). Topped with real whipped cream, and I used cornstarch and a coconut flavoring in the milk. Next time will use 1/2 coconut milk, 1/2 half-and-half as was suggested; the flavoring left a slight alcohol taste. Fantastic recipe!
