I am a very free-spirited person and have very diverse interests. I enjoy people. Watching them, being around them, entertaining them.
My favorite things to cook
I was raised down south and love the Southwest Louisiana menu as well as all of the other comforting fattening foods that gather flocks to the table. I love making everything from the drinks to the dessert with coffee and everything in between.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother was AWESOME in the kitchen and I learned a great deal from her. Family was big to her and she made sure that we all had full bellies every time we left her house. She had 7 kids who would all be there with all of their kids, so you do the math....there were a LOT of people and she always made EVERY gathering a major one. Full spread on any given weekend (or weekday during the summer).
My cooking triumphs
1st New year's party in 2001/2002 planned a party for 30 (rsvp), ended up with about 50. To date, I still get compliments on the chicken that was served and the "zombie punch" as well as the mini-bites of a spread that I had to "stretch".
