About this Cook
After 30 years in the finance world I gave it all up to be with the man I love and live with him in the wind. The Columbia Gorge is known around the world for its famous wind and here is where you will find any sport that plays in it. We kiteboard, windsurf, kayak, stand up paddle board,and of course sail.
My favorite things to cook
By far, soups and crock pot recipes are my favorite thing to cook.
My cooking triumphs
My all time triumph would have to be my grilled babyback ribs. Second runner up would be my Beer-Butt Chicken, also cooked on the grill.
My cooking tragedies
I made corn beef and cabbage in the crock pot for St. Patrick's Day. Someone told me that adding a dark beer to it makes it really good. Well, the darkest beer I know of is Guinness. It tasted terrible! The entire pot was ruined so bad that my dog wouldn't even eat the meat!

Spinach Quiche
I think this is the BEST quiche I've ever made and I've made a lot! You don't need that much butter to saute onions. I used fresh mushrooms and half-n-half in place of milk, and I'm lucky enough to have farm fresh eggs from my chickens. Other than those 2 small changes I did everything as the recipe is printed. My husband and his friend said it's the best quiche they've ever eaten! Thank you!!

Cajun Chicken Pasta
This dish has potential, as is, it's rather bland. I think I'll try some new things with it next time.

Chicken Marsala
This was too overpowering of a flavor. Need a lot less of the wine I think. Probably will not make it again.
