Curry Pineapple Fried Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2011
This was SOO good. I gave it 5 stars even though i added some other ingredients because the pineapple, curry powder, and fish sauce mix was superb and I would have never thought it would add so much ooph to fried rice. I recommend cooking the rice in advance and putting it in the fridge because its easier to fry if its cold. I used frozen shrimp and thawed it and removed the tails. I only used maybe 8 oz of pineapple and it was plenty. I chopped them too so it would blend better. I added 3 eggs, scrambled separately, chopped carrots, 1 clove minced garlic, and peas. I feel like these ingredients are a staple in fried rice. Also I used 3 tablespoons of sesame oil instead of vegetable oil and it adds nice flavor. DEEEEEEEELICIOUS! New fave recipe.

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2011
Very good. I did use some wine and I think that's what made it turn out so well. I had to add a lot more olive oil to keep it from getting too dry. I also will add more bacon next time. I used dried parsley because I didn't have any fresh parsley on hand. Great meal that I will be making again!

Chicken Puffs

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
Very good but I can only give it 4 stars because I altered the recipe. I used 4 oz regular cream cheese and 4 oz of onion and chive cream cheese. I used fresh grated garlic because I think it blends better than when it's minced. I also used margarine instead of butter and used garlic butter croissants. I added black pepper to the mixture. Came out great but I think it would have been pretty bland without all the variations I made. It's also a lot more time consuming than I realized so make sure you have ample time.

Chicken Tortilla Soup I

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
I didn't have hominy, green chillies and only a 14 oz can of crushed tomatoes so I improvised. I used 1 chopped jalepeno pepper as a green chillies substitution and I chopped 2 medium tomatoes and smashed them to make up for the crushed tomatoes. Added cumin and an 8 oz. of sour cream at the end which I think made it. This was a good dish but I've definitely had better. Quick and easy though!

Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breast

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2011
It was good for a baked chicken dish. My boyfriend loved it (probably because of the bacon!) but I wasn't as in love with it. The chicken was a bit overcooked and I only had it in for 30 mins and broiled for 3 mins. I'm only giving it 3 stars because I added shredded mozzarella cheese, onion powder, salt, and lots of crushed red pepper to the stuffing mixture. I think it would have been really bland without it. It paired nicely with a fresh salad with cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, and sun-dried tomato vinaigrette.

Pasta With Tuna Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
It was "ok" at best. I used a can of diced tomatoes and added some Italian Seasoning and Parmesan cheese at the end. I used fettucini. I probably won't make it again unless I'm craving tuna for some reason. I felt like the amount of sauce wasn't enough for the pound of pasta that was required.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
My boyfriend and I love all kinds of food and are not picky but this dish was just "ok." we were let down because it was our first slow cooker meal. It wasn't bad by any means but I also probably won't make it again.

Chinese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
I just became a big pork fan so I just tried this recipe! I used the exact amounts of everything except i grated some fresh garlic and used 2 huge pork chops with bone. Only marinated it for an hour but it came out great. I baked it in the oven, covered, for almost an hour; probably took long because the chops were huge. It was so tasty though! Served with white rice. Easy and delish!

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2010
BEST PIE I'VE EVER HAD! My boyfriend and I both love sweets and we used to go to a great bakery for apple pie with vanilla ice cream. I thought that pie was delicious... until i tried this recipe! I've made this twice and it's absolutely amazing. I don't bake it quite as long because I only used about 4 apples. Also, I like Gala apples more so I use them instead. Fantastic!

Pizza Without the Red Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2010
This pizza was excellent! Great flavor and you didn't feel sick from the usual pizza greasiness. My boyfriend loved it too! I used Bobli original pizza crust and I added less than half of 1 chopped green bell pepper and some sliced mushrooms. I used yellow onion instead of sweet onion. Like other reviewers I also took out the tomato seeds so it wouldn't make the pizza soggy. I substituted the jalepeno for crushed red pepper. I added sun-dried tomatoes and shredded mozzarella cheese and topped it off with feta cheese. SOOO delicious. Might be the best homemade pizza recipe I've ever had!
