Rubbed and Grilled Pork Loin

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2013
This is great. Very good flavor. I used a smaller pork loin so you definitely have to adjust cooking time. Roughly 45 minutes for a 2lbs pork loin.

Lori's Spicy Chipotle Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2013
This was sooo good. Definitely one of the best lasagnas I have had in a while. I did make one little change though. I don't like frozen spinach, therefore I bought fresh one. Sauteed it, then added the cream cheese, and added a little water, so it is not quite as thick. I also added one extra chipotle chile. Didn't make it too spicy IMO, as I don't really like spicy food. Delicious :)

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2013
This was my first apple pie ever and it turned out great. Followed the recipe exactly. Next time I will add apples to mixture first, and poor into pie crust then. Very yummy though and the family loved it.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2013
This is delicious. I have make it just like the recipe calls for, minus the mushrooms because the boyfriend doesn't like them. Adding shrimp is also very yummy. Wish it didn't have so many calories, therefore definitely a rare treat.

Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2013
I made this exactly like the recipe called for, except that I used a spaghetti sauce. The chicken had no flavor, at all, and lost what seemed like a nice crust after being soaked is sauce. If I would make this again, I would cook the chicken in the pan, instead of transferring the chicken over into the oven. Then heat sauce separately and top at the end.

Ratatouille Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2011
This was okay. Nothing special and therefore won't make it again. Followed the recipes as outlined and it was a little bland for me.

Paul's Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2011
This is DELICIOUS!!!! First off, the frosting is amazing (though I did use 8oz cream cheese). I did make minor changes: only 3 eggs, half white sugar, half brown sugar, fresh pumpkin puree, added 1/2 tsp clove and 1/2 tsp nutmeg, and only 2/3c oil. Had to bake it for 35 min in a 9x13 glass dish in a gas oven. Love, love, love it.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2011
This is delicious. I will never buy pre-made frosting again. I only used 1 (8oz) cream cheese but left everything else like the recipe calls for. Enough to cover 9x13.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
I think this is definitely better than the typical "mushroom soup" green bean casserole. However, I felt like something was missing but I am not sure what. I followed the directions and would definitely reduce on the salt, especially if you plan on substituting crackers with fried onions (as they are pretty salty in my opinion).

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
My husband made these and I thought they were good. Could definitely benefit of something special, like some cinnamon or vanilla extract. But a good recipe overall.

Carrabba's® Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2011
I thought this was ok. Thought it was way too buttery. Would definitely reduce on the butter next time. I would probably also add more Marsala Wine. The way the recipe is right now, I wouldn't make it again.

Purple Apple Slaw

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
This was yummy. Made it with green cabbage and left the onion out (hubby doesn't like raw onions) but kept the dressing as is. Very good, and a nice change from the typical "southern" slaw we always make.

Antipasto Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2011
I am not crazy about the dressing. I really disliked the dried oregano and parsley in it. I thought it was just too much. I would make the salad again but not with the dressing that was given here.

Lemon Meringue Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2011
I am surprised that nobody has mentioned any problems with layering the cake yet. I followed the instructions exactly, and my pie filling kept coming out of the sides. Additionally, the layers were sliding around. So what I did was stake the layers with some chop sticks and stuck it in the fridge for a while, so the pie filling could harden up. After a while the pie filling stopped being pushed out and that is when I put the meringue on. Took the chop sticks out and stuck it in the oven immediately. I was hoping the meringue would seal the pie filling but it didn't. As soon as it got heated up, it was leaking to the bottom of the cake, making the cake look like a mess. Will never make this recipe again. The only change I made to the recipe was the meringue. I used a recipe that I use for my pie recipe that uses cornstarch, egg whites, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2011
This was very good. I followed the recipe just like it was and really did not need any changing. I do think the meatballs are what make this meal. The sauce is average and I prefer some of my other sauce recipes over this one. However, I would definitely make it again. Also, making the meatballs is a fun thing to make with the family/kids :) Edit: Have made this a couple of more times since the first review, and now the sauce kind of grew on me ;) Yummy.

Roasted Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2011
I am unsure why this is getting such good reviews. I found it to be extremely tasteless. I didn't add the "optional" ingredients because I wanted simple garlic bread. If I were to make this again, I would sprinkle some garlic powder over the top, and maybe a little salt. But the way the recipe is right now, I would never make it again.

Pizza Dough III

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2011
This was the first time I tried this and will definitely make this again. I did use 2 1/4 c of flour, and greased the pizza pan. I also sprinkled some corn meal on the pan. I thought the dough was very easy to handle and made a yummy crust. I did leave it in 5 minutes longer than suggested but I think 20 min is fine. However, I have a gas oven (which everything seems to take longer in there) so I did cook it at 400F instead of the suggested temp.

Baked Brie in Puff Pastry

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
This is amazing. I don't cut the brie in half to add nuts, I just leave it whole and wrap the pastry around it. Also, I use a beaten egg to seal the pastry and put it in the freezer for a couple of hours. However, if you stick it in the freezer, it will need more time in the oven. I had mine in for 40 min. Will definitely make this again.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
I made this just as the recipe asked for, except that I put a whole cream cheese (8 oz) in there. I thought the Alfredo sauce was overwhelming. If I were to make this again, I would definitely put less Alfredo sauce in it, add more shredded cheese and maybe more cream cheese. The way the recipe is now, I wouldn't make it again.

Chicken Lo Mein

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
This was great, though I did make some minor changes. I definitely kept the basic recipe for the sauce. I left out the red peppers and added some fresh green beans instead. I also added some shrimp besides the chicken. I didn't want to use Linguine, so I bought Rice Noodles, which are Thai but were amazing with this dish. Will definitely make again.
