About this Cook
I am 23 years old and work in the medical field. My fiance and I both enjoy cooking and since we are getting married in January and expecting a baby next year, I'm interested in making well planned, well-rounded meals for us.
My favorite things to cook
My fiance usually does the cooking when I'm craving something and he also loves making anything Asian or anything with curry or exotic ingredients like bean curd.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I personally love a good old fashioned casserole like grandma used to make! I hope either me or my fiance learns how to make sushi because that is my favorite food. My mother in law and grandmother in law make famous spaghetti sauce, lasagna, killer Eggplant parmesan, etc. (they are Italians)
My cooking triumphs
Around St. Patricks day last year, I made a super delicious corned beef with carrots, cabbage and to-die-for onions. I also make a really good spinach pie, really tasty baked goods, and Jewish food like Matzo ball soup and Kugel because that is one of my familys favorite dishes.
My cooking tragedies
Last year when I was making the corned beef, I left it in the shopping cart and realized it when I got home so I had to go out and buy another one :( When I tried making Borscht it came out brown for some reason so it just tasted bad because it looked bad. (I think the lemon turned it brown but I followed to recipe as it said so I dunno what happened)Usually everything I make comes out pretty good, its hard to mess up a dish when you have good ingredients and take your sweet time when making it!

The Best Ever Classic Jewish Noodle Kugel
Mmmm... Very good and makes the whole house smell delicious but I modified it by adding 2 tablespoons cinnamon into the mix, chopped pecans, white raisins, and I had to add a little more butter (3 tablespoons) and 2 more eggs because after I mixed it all together, it was too dry to bake. Also I substituted the sugar for splenda because thats all we have in the house and I didnt want to go out and buy more and it tastes fine! My man is going to be so excited when he comes home and finds this waiting!
