These were quite tasty. I am not a big fan of onions or peppers, but I'm trying to eat better, so I used onions and peppers anyway. I doubled the recipe and used a whole orange bell pepper and a whole small white onion. Because my husband isn't a big fan of onions or peppers either, I put them in my food processer and kept going until they were really finely chopped and they added a nice flavor without having large chunks. I used dried beans I had cooked in a slow cooker, so I didn't have a lot of extra liquid. I froze the patties for about an hour before pan frying one, and baking the others. Both ways turned out great. I also made homemade burger buns for these, and THEY WERE AMAZING. I used the "Burger or Hot Dog Buns" recipe from here, and they took these to a whole new level. Overall, it was a good recipe, though I did end up using 1.5 times the bread crumbs like other reviewers have reported. I will likely try these again with cooked brown rice or quinoa in place of the bread crumbs to improve the nutrition.
