My love for cooking came at a very young age. My mother never learned how to cook...we ate out every single day. At 16, I grew tired of it and tought myself how to cook through cookbooks and cooking shows. What I LOVE about cooking is how I'm able to tweak the recipes and make them my own.
My favorite things to cook
Rack of lamb with port wine sauce, chicken and italian sausage lasagna, stuffed bell peppers, Green Chili stew (a New Mexican staple)Just to name a few.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family cooking traditions was baking with my grandmother. I never really got good at baking so i mainly stay away from it now. There is a pumpkin cream cheese pie that i make every year...that is the extent of my baking. My recipe was a total fluke! lol
My cooking tragedies
I wouldnt call it MY tragedy...but i guess i'm going to have to own up to it being that it happened to me. This happened Thanksgiving 2010. I gave my cousin a list of things i needed to make the dinner. When i got to her house to prepare the dinner she improvised on a lot of the things i told her to buy. I told her to buy poultry seasoning and she thought that seasoned salt was the same as poultry seasoning. Amazing on how something so simple can make a HUGE impact on the food. Sad to say that is the only tragedy i've had in the kitcken. Sorry folks!!! lol
