Pasta with Tomato Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2007
Yum. I could eat this sauce with a spoon. Very delicious. I used heavy whipping cream since that is what I had, and then tossed it with 24 ozs cooked spaghetti. Think next time I will use less spaghetti so that it is saucier. I wanted to dip my bread in this. Will definately make again!

Baked Havarti Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2006
Unreal. This is fantastic. I wasnt too sure about this when I was reading the ingredients, but my husband loves anything with chilies and cheese. Not only is it great, but its so easy. Will make again and again. McCormicks makes a great greek seasoning.

Mexican White Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2006
I was intrigued by all the reviews for this. I live in So California, and love mexican food. I have never seen white sauce at a restaurant ever, and no one I knew had either... so of course I wanted to try this since everyone was so excited to have the recipe. Um.. I feel like I made a mistake. Its super super sweet. I guess I should have known, with the miracle whip. This is pretty bad, and like nothing Mexican that I can think of.

You've Gotta Be Kidding Onions

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2006
I had to try this because it sounded so unusual, and I really wanted to like it. Its not bad exactly, just not something I will ever make again and definately not something I would take anywhere. Very very sweet.

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2006
I like the flavor of this, though I did add a bit more mustard and used fresh mushrooms instead. I was a little disappointed with the sauce, it was very very thin. I think this is worth trying again, and maybe using the suggestion that others have made about using cream cheese.

Buffalo Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2006
This recipe really has nothing "buffalo" about it. Its a good base recipe for strips though. I made them and then dipped them in buffalo sauce (franks and butter) and served them with blue cheese and celery.

Mushroom Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2006
This was really very good. I have not liked the last few meatloaf recipes I had tried, and this one appeared pretty plain. So I am very glad that I tried it. Very most, great flavor.

Sleepy Hollow Chicken Salad Supreme

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2006
This is very good. I liked it a lot. I didnt have pecans, so I put slivered almonds in it and mixed them and the grapes right in. Next time I might try some tart apples instead of the grapes, and am wondering what a little red onion would taste like in this. I will probably make again. Definately a sweet chicken salad. I am editing this review just a little bit, after eating it again the second day I think this is just a little bit too fruity for me.

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2006
Oh this is gooood. The only change I made was to add one more can of clams, and the only potatoes I had were yukon golds. Absolutely delicious. Will make again. The vinegar sounds odd, but put it in.

Couscous with Dried Cherries

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2006
This is good, it makes a very good side dish for meats that have a sweet sauce. I added a little bit of slivered almonds at the end. It is a tiny bit on the bland side, but sometimes thats what you need to go with other dishes.

Ginger Glazed Chicken with Pineapple Salsa

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2006
We loved this! It looks beautiful, like restaurant food. I cooked my chicken breasts on the foreman grill, and we added a half of a seeded jalapeno to the salsa which was great. The salsa really compliments the chicken. I read the reviews and put in less cilantro, and my husband still said it was too overpowering, and we like cilantro. So thats the only tweak I will make.

Hawaiian Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2006
This is great. It tastes fantastic, and has a great texture and is really pretty! I got three loaves out of this recipe. I forgot the vanilla on accident, but it still tastes really good. Thank you!

Mike's Favorite Grilled Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2006
Classic grilled cheese. The only thing I can add is it makes a huge difference to cook low and slow. Low heat and slow cooking will give you a really nice toasty crunch. My 12 year old just learned how to make his own, and is a pro.

Pretty bland, I much prefer the zesty meatball recipe (also found on this site) to this one.

South Beach Chopped Salad with Tuna

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
This has been my lunch staple. I love it, and the veggies are flexible. I use lemon juice instead of lime. The key is using really good tuna. Albacore, and not the catfood stuff. Geisha is my favorite, the nice chunky kind that doesnt taste fishy. I would probably even eat this if I wasnt doing south beach.

Split Pea and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2006
This turned out really good. I did not make the puree, and I ended up having to add more liquid to this at the end. But that is probably because my bag of split peas was 16 oz. And I added a dash of garlic to it. Really good, and we will make this again.

Quiche Lorraine I

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2006
This was a really good quiche recipe. I did have to cook it a little bit longer than the recipe called for, until it set up. Nice texture and flavor. Next time I might put a little more cayenne.

Tuscan Soup

Great soup. I made it exactly per the recipe. I expected it to be a little creamier, but was not disappointed. I used spicy italian sausange and I felt it had a lot of flavor. Will make this again.

Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2006
We loved this. Very flavorful, very easy. I didnt even have time to cook it as long as the recipe called for, and it still turned out great. Only changes I made were canned corn instead of frozen, and I added a handful of fresh green beans. Will definately make again.
