Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
By far, one of my favorite recipes on this website. It's simple and tasty! I use fresh chicken breasts seasoned with salt, pepper and garlic powder. I agree with other reviewers as you should use a good quality bbq sauce and zesty Italian dressing. Also, shred chicken and put back in the crock pot about an hour before serving.

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
YUM!!! This really is a wonderful recipe. My kids like the flavor of strawberry, but do not like the "chunky" consistency of the fruit, so I omitted them from the recipe. I used 2 ( 6oz) boxes of jello with 3 cups of boiling water and made sure the jello set before adding it to the cream cheese filling. They loved it!!!!

Paul's Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2011
I've been making these for years...they're simply awesome. I agree with other reviewers as this is more like a cake than a bars.

Doughnut Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2011
I think these are very good, but this muffin tastes more like a Snickerdoodle than a doughnut. As others suggested, I will try adding nutmeg in the batter instead of cinnamon next time.

Southwestern Black Bean Stew

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
I have an All Recipes cook book that has this recipe cooked on the stove top rather than a slow cooker. While the meat and taco seasoning is simmering, I dump and stir the rest of the ingredients (I drain half the liquid from the black beans) in a large bowl and then add it to the skillet to cook on a medium heat for 20 minutes. Either way you choose to cook this stew, it still comes out yummy!!!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2011
I have been making this recipe for years and ALWAYS rake in the compliments. I follow the recipe to the T, including the full cup of oil, and it always comes out moist and delicious. It's important to have it cool for the hour and a half before inverting on a plate. Oh and this cake tastes better the next day.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
This homemade sloppy joe recipe is so much better than the store bought canned stuff. Instead of simmering for 30 minutes, I put everything in our crock pot (set on low) for 3 hours. I also omitted the green peppers since my family doesn't care for them. Thanks for sharing Tamara.

Hockey Pucks

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
These were yummy and fun to make with kids. I took the advice of many and used chocolate almond bark, which is easier to melt and dip. These taste a lot like Butterfingers.

Apple Spice Dump Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
With all the mixed reviews, I was skeptical about this recipe. I made a couple of changes and thought this cake was awesome. I omitted both the nutmeg and allspice and increased the cinnamon slightly (about 1/8 tsp). I also decreased the amount of pecans to 1/4 cup. I would also recommend cutting up the butter in small squares and line them up on top of the cake mix like a checker board. It's a MUST to serve this cake with vanilla ice cream. This is a fun and easy recipe for kids.
