Cinnamon Syrup

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
Incredible! The perfect syrup for pancakes but also works great for sweetening up tons of other things. Try it in sweet potato casserole, topping off apple crumb cake, or other recipes that call for cinnamon.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2012
I used buttermillk (just personal pref) but these are the best biscuits ever. I do find letting the batter sit for about 5 min before I knead/roll them out tends to make it easier (and doesn't have me adding more flour which dries out your biscuits).

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2012
This was great. I doubled this one but left the sugar at only 1/2 cup and it was plenty sweet. Additionally instead of just putting in blueberries I first cooked (for about 10 min on the stove top) 4 cups of blueberries in 1tbsp. white sugar, 1 tbsp. of honey, 1 tsp. fresh basil, and 1 tbsp. balsamic vinegar; strained them - keeping the liquid to drizzle over the top once the cobbler was done. Additionally, I found that only using 2 tbsp. of butter for the entire dish was more than enough to prepare the 9x13 pan. I did bump up the baking powder to 1 tbsp. and added 2 tbsp. unsweetened applesauce (only since I cut back on the butter). This is such a keeper thxs for posting this one :-)

Ken's Perfect Hard Boiled Egg (And I Mean Perfect)

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
Truly, I cannot thank you enough for finally giving me a NO-fail way to make the PERFECT hard boiled eggs! I was reduced to purchasing boiled eggs I was that bad at it before I came across this version. I thought I had tried every trick out there but with these slight modifications I can finally, and proudly, make some eggs :-) I did follow this recipe to the "t" even though some reviews said you can do it without the vinegar and/or salt...so long as you plunge them in the ice bath - perhaps I'll try that out later but for now just too happy with my results to worry about straying from the recipe.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: May 14, 2012
I did the first batch to the "T" and everyone loved it! However, as I don't do oil/butter too well (medical issues) for the second batch I changed things up a bit 3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce and 1/4 cup oil. Of course it comes out a bit more like a bread - a tad drier (which I love) so I was thrilled that I could still have some too :) Additionally, I thought it was a bit sweet so for that second batch, I dropped the sugar to 1 cup white and 1/2 cup brown - PERFECTION! thank you so much for posting.

Corn Dog Muffins

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
These were great my boys loved them! Such a quick, easy snack to have handy. The only thing I changed was a bit of the batter (I just have my own cornbread mix my family likes) other than that I kept everything else the same...thxs so much for posting this one - it's a keeper :)

Blueberry Nut Oat Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2012
This is an AMAZING base recipe. I've tried all kinds of variations (ex: fresh cherries in place of blueberries and almond extract instead of vanilla OR shredded carrot & raisin with rum extract to name a few). Can't thank you enough for posting this keeper!

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2012
Easily the BEST Rosemary bread I've ever made! Thank you so much for posting this one. I followed it to a "T" just double it though since I can't make it fast enough. Also, (purely by accident) I allowed the bread to rise three times (an hour each, followed by punching it down at each interval) and it came out even lighter. I did take the recommendation of another poster and every 10 min during baking threw in an ice cube to provide steam which gave a crisp outside while keeping it soft inside.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2012
Amazing! To lower the fat (and because I just love the unique taste) I substituted the 1/2 cup butter for 1/2 cup of banana, pureed. Additionally, I sub 1/4 cup of eggbeater for the egg. Of course the recipe is outstanding as written, my changes were just for personal taste/preferrence. Thanks for posting this one!

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

All time fav! I use 1 cup bread flour half and 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour and cut out the olive oil it came out amazing...the entire family loved it! Thxs so much for posting this one :) FYI this can make either a 14" regular crust portion or a thinner (18") pizza - either tastes great just remember slightly less cooking time on that thinner one!
