Moroccan Potato Casserole

Reviewed: May 5, 2004
I did not like this recipe. It was not worth the work. I gave it two stars because my friends did seem to enjoy it. However, if they knew how much work was involved, I don't think they would have thought it was worth it either.

Martha's Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2004
This was a good, easy soup. I added a little Chili powder to give it extra flavor. I also doubled the hamburger, as suggested by someone else, and was pleased with the result.

Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2004
This is the only chili I'll ever make. It is so easy and tastes great. I serve it with cheddar cheese on top at our annual Super Bowl party...last year one of our non-vegetarian guests told me it was "sublime." Thank you!

Beefy Mushroom Barley Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2004
My husband loved this and would give it a 5 star rating. I didn't like it and would give it a 1. It was too beefy for me. I liked Susan Shulka's, Cheesy Vegetable Soup 2, much better.

Lemon Poppy Seed Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2003
I used a mini bundt pan. I added a lemon glaze. They came out fine, but not what I was looking for.

Easy Oatmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2003
I have too much of a sweet tooth for these. I added cinnamon, nutmeg and sprinkled cinnamon sugar on the top but didn't have positive results for me. They seemed like they were missing something. If you get tired of things being too sweet, they may be perfect for you.

Baked Ham

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2003
I loved this recipe and would have given it 5 stars, but my daughter thought it was a bit sweet, which frankly is never a problem for me. I used an already cooked turkey ham and it worked out great.

Easy Apple Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2003
We loved this cole slaw. It does not overdo the mayo like so many recipes. I think the apples and the dressing are a must as is, but you could add or subtract to the rest of it to fit your taste.

If you are trying to gain weight, this recipe would be great. Otherwise, it's not worth the calories.

Cheesy Vegetable Soup II

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2003
Wonderful soup! I followed Suzamma's advice with the flour. (I mixed it with some of the milk.) It worked great. I also added some Basil. This recipe is a new favorite.

Part of the family loved this and part didn't. Next time, I would add extra potatoes.

Jam Muffins

I really liked these, but my daughter thought they were too sweet. Too sweet isn't in my vocabulary. If it's not in yours, these are very good.

Insanely Easy Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2003
This was a tasty and healthy dinner! I doubled the recipe for company and added an extra can of drained kidney beans, next time I'd add 2 cans.

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2003
If we could, we would rate this higher than 5 stars. I omitted the salt. I needed to cook the biscuits a bit longer than 8 mins. but it was worth the wait.

Hamburger Rice Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2003
My husband loved this soup. I substituted 1 large (28 oz.)can crushed tomatoes for the diced tomatoes. I used 4 cups of water instead of 6. I used less than half of the salt and substituted hot chili powder for the rest. This is a great meal for a cold winter day.

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

This is a wonderful company dessert. It freezes well if you need to make it ahead of time. I made a little lightly flavored almond glaze to put on top and then topped it with cool whip and Comstock cherries as I served it. GREAT RECIPE!
