White Bean Spread With Garlic & Rosemary

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2007
This is wonderful. I made it ahead of time for a party and it was hard not to eat it all before the guests arrived!

Apple Oatmeal Crisp

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2007
I have tried many apple crisp recipes and prefer this one. Admittedly, it is on the sweet side, but I like that. I used a 9X9 pan and added 1/3 of everything, except for the cinnamon and white sugar which I left as is. Delicious!

Terrific sauce- used 2/3rds the amount of honey.

Pecan Pumpkin Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2007
These were really good. I added, but did not toast the pecans. I doubled the recipe to freeze some and that worked well.

Broccoli Casserole III

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2006
Very good! (used shredded cheddar cheese) I save out part of the cracker/butter mixture to put over the top. I mix in the rest of the cracker/butter as well as the cheese into the broccoli. Used 1/4 cup of butter. Spray the baking dish with cooking spray.

Italian Veggie Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2006
Delicious! Substituted fine chopped mushrooms for the peas. Used matchstick carrots. Reduced the amount of wine. Used large shells and stuffed them (instead of rolling lasagna noodles). Sprinkled extra mozzarella over the top.

Baked Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2006
This was a fine side dish. As suggested, I omitted the water and used half of the butter. It was nice when company was coming, that you could get it ready ahead of time (up to the melted butter) and then just pop it in the oven to cook before serving.

Pennsylvania Coal Region Barbecue

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2006
It's an easy sloppy joe recipe. I tripled the filling and froze it for future quick dinners.

Almond French Toast

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2006
Everyone liked this recipe, I loved it. I did not follow the recipe with the almonds. I just sprinkled them over the top of each serving. I didn't have French bread and used Italian, which worked out perfectly.

Cheesy Chicken Pot Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2006
Great pot pie! I followed someone else's advice and cooked the bottom crust for about 15 minutes before adding the filling.

Quinoa Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2006
I used vegetable broth instead of chicken broth to make this recipe vegetarian. I cooked the soup for about an hour longer than the recipe calls for. The quinoa cooked down a lot and it made a nice, thick and creamy broth. I recommend serving this with thick slices of multi-grain bread.

Barley Bake

This was really easy and very good. I didn't have any mushrooms on hand, so I used frozen mixed vegetables, and they worked great.

Down Home Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2006
I just don't like macaroni and cheese but with the top rating thought I'd try it once more. It wasn't as bad as beets but I wouldn't make it again.

Bread and Celery Stuffing

Looking at the ingredients, I would have never guessed that this is as wonderful as it is! I think it requires real butter. I used giblets, but next time wouldn't bother.

This made really good toast for breakfast, but we are hooked on Grandma VanDoren's white bread to have with meals.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2006
This was terrific. I used an extra large pyrex baking pan, 9X13 would have been too small. The only thing I added was garlic powder, it was wonderful on it's own!
