Powdered Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2011
These are perfect as is! No need to roll out into shapes or use frosting. I followed the recipe exactly, just needed to keep them in my oven for a couple of extra minutes.

We really did not like the flavor of this bread. However, my friend did, and asked for the recipe. It baked well and came out as pictured.

Jalapeno Ranch Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
I had to bring a salad for Christmas dinner, so I made a couple of dressings to go with it. This one was the biggest hit! It was so easy too! It would also be excellent as a dip or on top of a baked potato.

Jesse and Steve's Fresh Strawberry Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
Delicious! I used white sugar and made cupcakes so it would be an easier treat to bring into work. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. It came out really well and I definitely plan to make them again!

Butternut Squash Soup with Spinach Ravioli

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
I used vegetable broth to make it vegetarian. I also doubled the amount of squash because that flavor wasn't very strong. I only had wild mushroom ravioli on hand, which was fine, but next time I'll use what the recipe called for. I will also probably double the amount of butter. Overall, it's a very good soup!

Breakfast Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
I made this because I wanted coffee cake but didn't have any eggs on hand. I took the suggestion of others and used butter instead of shortening. I also added a tsp of cinnamon, a pinch of cardamom and a dash of nutmeg to the batter. Instead of the brown sugar and cinnamon on top I made a crumb topping by mixing 1 c of flour, 4 TBSP melted butter, 3/4 c brown sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon and sprinkled it on the batter before putting it in the oven. This won't become my favorite coffee cake, but it is very good and I would make it again.

Dessert Crepes

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
Since this recipe has received such great reviews, I expected a lot. I was really unimpressed. I followed the recipe exactly, and the batter was difficult to work with. I tried lightly spraying my non-stick pan, but the batter stuck badly. To get them to work, I had to spray the pan A LOT. The batter was also too thick to make authentic crepes, so I added some water to thin it out a bit. As other people have said, these also tasted too eggy.
