About this Cook
Hi, my name is Katie and I am from Grass Valley, California. I am an artist, I love to read, play video games, and cook. I have been cooking for about a couple years now and feel I have finally gotten into the realm of gourmet. I love delicious, full bodied and flavored food I am especially crazy and pick about sauces, no meal should be without a sauce or marinade, lol. In my humble opinion that is. I am pretty laid back and down to earth unless provoked or ignored. ;-)
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking pizza, burgers, American cuisine, Italian, Japanese, and most anything that I think will taste good together. I dabble in desserts (baking) as well but am still in the learning process. I am experimental and love to try new things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
1) Cream Cheese/Ricotta Blintzes for Christmas Day morning. 2) September Chicana 3) July Smoked Pork Ribs 4) November Navy Bean Soup, served the night before Thanksgiving while we make pies and dressing. 5) Pecan Pie for dessert on Thanksgiving

Garlic Aioli
It's ok but it's not a true Aioli (which all Aioli has a lot of garlic making the title redundant). I mean if you're looking for a quick, lazy way of doing it (also the mayo makes it particularly bad nutritionally), then this will work. However, this recipe is good for an artichoke dip. You can substitute real garlic for garlic powder, omit the salt, and add lots of pepper. :)

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken
I would say this is good with exception to WAY TO MUCH SALT. Holy cow! It would be perfect with about a 1/4 teaspoon salt instead. It over powers all the other wonderful flavors. Salt is supposed to bring the flavor out, not take over. Also, the serving size does not yield enough for 4 normal sized breasts, maybe that is why the salt is overpowering...I would double the amounts of everything but the salt. 1/2 teaspoon salt would be good for the doubling of everything else for 4 breasts. Then I would say PERFECT! Nice and easy though with a different spin on lime chicken...which I love. ;)
