Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Quick and Easy Brownies

I have to agree that these were really cake-like. I personally like a chewy brownie. Also, these were not chocolate-y enough for my taste, despite the good cocoa I used. I would decrease flour to 1 cup, decrease sugar to 1 1/2 cup, increase cocoa to 3/4 cup and decrease butter to 1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup). I'll try it again, altered... a good basic starting recipe that definitely needs some tweaking.

Best Bread Machine Bread

This is a great recipe, as is. However, for a 'fluffier' sandwich-suitable bread similar to store bought, I like to use 2 tbsp of agave nectar instead of sugar. I use the bread machine yeast (1 1/4 tsp.). I ran out of bread flour and tried 1/2 with whole wheat flour- and it was even better! Great basic recipe.

The Best Vegetarian Chili in the World

I made this recipe as-is (but drained and rinsed all beans and drained the corn), and I must say that this recipe is the perfect vegetarian chili recipe! It's super fast to prepare and yields quite a bit of chili! I'm enjoying it right now, just after cooking, but I'm sure it will be even better tomorrow. This recipe is a keeper!

Cornbread Muffins I

I used canned corn (creamed-style), because it was all I had on hand and the muffins came out very moist and delicious, with the perfect amount of sweetness. They were slightly more dense than normal, but were so good it didn't matter. They were a hit!

Vegan Red Lentil Soup

Fantastic recipe!! I couldn't find fenugreek seeds, so I did a little research and used yellow mustard seed instead. What a WONDERFUL medley of flavors! I made this recipe exactly as-is (with exception of the seeds) and it's really perfect. A big hit with the family- so it's definitely a keeper. Thanks for sharing.
