About this Cook
I'm a wife, mother of 4, & grandmother of 3. I love to cook but sometimes need help in the creative meal ideas, which is why I love this site. I started baking within the past couple of years & so far so good!
My favorite things to cook
I can't say that I like cooking one particular thing over another. I just want whatever I cook to come out to be more than just edible. If I had to pick just one thing I would say "cupcakes." To me they're better than a cake, you can get the same decorative effect as with a cake without the strain on my wrists.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Chicken & dressing, a holiday dish that is above all else a must have, always!
My cooking triumphs
New York style cheese cake (which I got from this site too, but I made a gram cracker crust of my own recipe) This dish came out so perfect I could have cried from joy. Everyone loved it & it is a highly requested dessert for our holiday gatherings
My cooking tragedies
Sweet potatoes. Ugh! My husband & children love sweet potatoes but I'm allergic. So, one day I decided to try my hand at it but I couldn't taste it. Needless to say my husband said to me "babe, you know I love you right?, but please never make this again!" I could only laugh because he was so serious & yet still trying not hurt my feelings. Too funny!!!

Chocolate Ganache
AMAZING!! This recipe was do easy and came out perfect! I didn't have bittersweet chocolate so I used milk chocolate. I made my chocolate cake a little less sweet then usual for fear the two together would be too sweet but the flavor was everything I was looking for! Thanks for sharing!

White Chip Chocolate Cookies
I was looking for a double chocolate chip cookie & I came across this recipe & another on this site which was a video. I baked both & have to say I was delighted at the outcome of both. This recipe is fantastic! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I didn't follow the recipe completely. I took the advice from some of the reviews & used 2 1/4 cups AP flour, 3/4 cup white sugar & 3/4 cup brown sugar, 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, & divided the chips up between white chocolate & semi-sweet chocolate chips...the rest I left the same. Turned out wonderful!!! This recipe was quick & easy & definitely a keeper! Thanks for sharing!

Seven Layer Taco Dip
We !!LOVED!! this recipe!!! I used to buy the layered dip from Sam's Club but never again! This recipe allows you to alter the spice level by the salsa you choose. I didn't use the bell pepper or the olives as the recipe suggests (my kids are picky eaters) but I added corn & black beans to make up the layers...PERFECT dip!!! Next time I'll use guacamole as a layer!! Thanks for sharing!
