Penne with Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
YUMMM!!!! I made this tonight for a dinner party, and people were so busy eating, no one had time to talk!! this was SOOOOOO good! I added one more sausage, and a little bit more red pepper flakes to give it more heat. I will definitely make this again.

Pancakes I

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2011
yum!! I added vanilla because I add vanilla to everything :) but these were great! I made these again and added ground cinnamon and freshly grated orange zest (cinnamon and orange is my new favorite flavor combo) and they were AMAZING! I don't think I'l ever make plain pancakes again!

Bodacious Brownies

I might be the only person on the planet to prefer cake like brownies to fudge brownies, but that's why I LOVED this recipe!!! I'm only sorry I didn't have walnuts on hand to add....NEXT TIME :)

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2011
LOVED this recipe! I can't believe it never occurred to me to add flour! Such a simple addition changes your french toast from limp and soggy, to fluffy and magnificent! I only wish I had great bread to make this with (I just used regular wheat and it was still fabulous). This is truly a restaurant quality recipe, impress your family by dusting some confectionery sugar and garnishing with strawberrys and orange curls :)

Chipotle Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
this is terrific! I have a rotisserie cooker, so I was able to use chicken breast roasted on the bone. (It made a BIG difference, the chicken was super moist and flavorful) I added green peppers to give it some more flavor and crunch and would recommended doing so. I wrapped it up with red onion and tomatoes in a sun-dried tomato and basil wrap, and served lunch to a few very satisfied people. I also sent this to work with my husband, and his coworkers were very envious :) I will make this again, and again, and again!

Salsa

Reviewed: May 6, 2011
this is definitely your basic fresh pico de gallo recipe. Saying that, I loved it! I added an extra jalapeƱo to give it even more heat, and I used my food processor to get a smooth/chunky texture. I do think this makes more than just 4 servings though....I have tons leftover (not that I'm complaining!)

Guacamole

Reviewed: May 6, 2011
LOVE, LOVE, LOVED this!! I added more than just a pinch of cayenne to give it more heat, and will probably add even more next time I make this.....but I can't believe how easy and good this was. This is truly a restaurant quality recipe.

Glazed Yeast Doughnuts

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2011
these are really, really good!! I added vanilla to the milk before I scorched it, and I only used 1/2 a tsp of nutmeg. Also, instead of glazing the doughnuts, I tossed them in cinnamon and confectionery sugar. These doughnuts were so light and fluffy!! you just have to know what you are doing to get them right.... if your doughnuts came out dense or flat you are doing something wrong. my only hangup (and the reason I gave them four stars instead of five) is that they absolutely have to be eaten fresh. the next day they are dry and hard :( eat them when they are still warm, and you'll die and go to heaven!

Banana Pancakes I

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
these were really good. I added vanilla (because vanilla makes everything better) and I added some chopped pecans. I would have given 5 stars, but the reason I gave 4 was because the pancakes were a little mushy.....I think if I make these again, I won't mash the bananas, rather I'll just cut them into small pieces and add to the batter. That way they will have a better consistency, and the flavor will still be there.

Salmon with Lemon and Dill

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2011
this was phenomenal. I made this for my husband (who is a salmon FREAK) and he said it was the best he had eaten in a long time. I served it with garlic couscous, and roasted asparagus with fresh garlic and a few squeezes of lemon. Definitely use less lemon juice in the recipe, and add the dill to the lemon, butter, and garlic sauce before you poor on the salmon. Some people wrote in their reviews that 20 minutes was enough, it wasn't for me, I had a really thick cut so PLEASE don't commit yourself to a cooking time, you really just have to keep checking it. Salmon should be cooked until you can flake it apart with a fork....if you under cook salmon it is off putting, but if you over cook it, you've basically ruined your dish, and a nice piece of fish. thanks for the recipe! I will use this often :)

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
I guess this would be okay if you like really, really dense sweet bread.....also, 30 minutes was NOT enough time to bake....the center was still doughy. I'll be looking for another bread recipe. this one was a waste of my ingrediants
