Oma's Fabulous Matzo Ball Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
WOW! 1/2 recipe was more than enough. Used food processor to finely mince onions. Also to thinly slice carrots and celery that I added. So delicious!!

Real Potato Leek Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
To increase nutritional value, don't peel potatoes. Chop then boil directly in chicken broth. You're peeling off most of the vitamins and pouring the rest down the sink with the water otherwise! I used yukon gold potatoes and boiled in a "gourmet" box of chicken broth that had white wine and thyme in it (College Inn was the brand name). We topped it with a bit of mozzarella/provolone cheese when we served it. Yowza! So simple and so amazingly good!! My six year old loves it!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2015
BETTER METHOD: use food processor to chop onions, carrots, and potatoes (which I used in place of celery). Saute onions in butter (I used peanut oil since I used all of my butter in the crust) until soft, add carrots, potatoes, celery seeds, sea salt, and poultry seasoning, Remove from pan and put aside. Add more oil/butter to pan and saute chicken until a bit brown on outside, add chicken broth and simmer a few minutes. Place in bowl and put aside. Next make a roux (a couple T butter or oil in pan and sprinkle in flour then SLOWLY a few drizzles as a time add milk until you have gravy). Return chicken with broth to pan with gravy and whisk together. Return veggies to pan and coat evenly with sauce. Place in crust and bake as directed. One of the best dishes I have ever made. Top 10!

Goodbye coffee shop! Great in almond milk or cow's milk. We also drizzled over bread pudding. Yum!

Spicy Vegan Potato Curry

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2013
I thought it seemed an excess of spice. I put in only 1/4 t cayenne, 2 t cumin, 2 t garam masala, and 2 t curry. I sauteed the spicy with the onions and garlic. I put in about 1/2 c of chicken broth to simmer with the chickpeas a bit while I waited for the potatoes finish cooking. I didn't have any tomatoes so I skipped that. Totally loved it.

My Best Clam Chowder

5 million stars! I always try clam chowder at restaurants and none can come close to how amazingly delicious this is. I made the recipe exactly as listed. The red wine vinegar is the key ingredient.

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2010
LOVE it! I made one tiny change - instead of 2 tsp hot chili paste I used 1 tsp "rooster sauce" and 1 tsp sweet chili paste. Oh, and I didn't bother with the green onion and peanut garnish because my 6 yr old doesn't like that. Phenomenal!!
