About this Cook
I love to cook for my family. I enjoy the challenge of feeding my family food that is processed-free and memorable. It makes it to the table if it's easy, fuss free and delicious! I work full time and have a long commute, but despite this we try and eat at home as often as possible. With the help of the great cooks I've found on, it's possible!
My favorite things to cook
I love making basic dishes from scratch like risotto, pasta, tortillas and broths. It tastes so good homemade and there's a sense of accomplishment to know that you can do it!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Hands down my favorite family cooking traditions are with my Dad. We will spend an entire day together making breakfast burritos that we can freeze and enjoy for months. The day after Thanksgiving we will usually make something new. (See cooking tradegies). :)
My cooking triumphs
Hmmm. Nothing comes to mind except for that amazing moment when you cook something and you know that it's a keeper! Oh, and your five year old says, "Mommy, what smells so good?"
My cooking tragedies
That would be Christmas Eve of 2011. My Dad and I attempted to make homemade ravioli. We ended up with three whole raviolis. Oh well, the backup pizza wasn't bad.

Beefy Baked Ravioli
Wow! It tastes like traditional lasagne, but half the time! I did double everything and used homemade meat sauce. Terrific. I'll be making this again, and again, and again..... Thank you!

Cilantro-Lime Dressing
Wow! I mixed 1 cup of quinoa (cooked according to package directions), 1can black beans, finely diced tomato, diced avacodo, red onion, corn, and added the dressing (about 3/4 of it), for an amazing black bean quinoa salad. This dressing is spot on and will be a staple. Maybe a tad less honey next time. Love this though!
