Cabbage Roll Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2012
I think if you find this too mushy that you should cut down on the broth that is used. I have been making this casserole for over 30 yrs. and my recipe calls for 20 ozs. of water (or broth).

Beef Burgundy Casserole

a few changes....do NOT drain mushrooms and put mixture over the noodles rather then mixing them in. Can also use onion soup mix if you do not have soup mix mentioned. I use this recipe per 1 1/2 lb meat and cook in roasting pan for 2 hrs. or more at 275 degrees -- check at that time and if you find it too thick add a little water or more wine. If you don't want to use wine use apple juice. sorry - couldn't get custom version area to work. This is a winner.

Farmhouse Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
did a lot of improvising as I made this at the last minute--but it turned out great! Had 5 small breasts, which when cooked (from partially frozen) measured 3 cups - used 8x8 pan, 1 box of stuffing and 12 oz. of Healthy Request Cr. of Mush. soup (no need to add milk) and did not add extra salt--baked for 30 min. Served 3-4 generously. I thought stuffing looked a little skimpy when spread on, so I lightly sprinkled italian bread crumbs over the stuffing and pressed lightly--worked great! Rave reviews at home.

Blueberry Snow

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2007
I reduced the cool whip also - instead of canned filling I made my own from this site with my frozen blueberries--very good!! When I poured the creamy mixture over the cake I wiggled the cake around slightly so some of it would seep down between the cake pieces. Left it overnight and it was perfect!

Hot Cheesy Spinach Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2005
very good - I guess some of the cooks haven't realized that when a recipe calls for "mayonnaise" they DO NOT mean miracle whip or salad dressing. Makes all the difference in a lot of dips.

Chicken Enchilada Soup III

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2004
This soup is absolutely wonderful! To save a little time I used a pkg. of pre-shredded Mexican (or Nacho) style cheese and it added a nice little tang. If you manage to have any leftovers, it is even better the next day.

Best Spinach Dip Ever

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2004
this is an easy and wonderful recipe and I hae been using it for years. It is often ruined by newcomers as they use whipped dressing (Miracle Whip type) instead of MAYONNAISE (Hellman's type). Makes a big difference -- use mayo!

Parmesan Broccoli Balls

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2003
excellent appetizer, easy to make and were a big hit with everyone. Several people asked for the recipe. Thought they looked a little gooey when they were ready to cook but they firm up nicely.

Pralines, Coffee and Cream Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2003
Great cake--everyone loved it. Using the 8 oz. cool whip is much better. Still had topping leftovers, but just freeze it! Stores well and great to pull out for a spoonful on pumpkin or chocolate cream pie or even brownies--ummmmm. The cake freezes well too. The cake goes far as it is rich and you can use smaller portions.

Very nice dip. Took it to a family gathering, everyone loved it and was asked for the recipe. Nice change to our usual favorites.

Christmas Brunch Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2002
quick and easy. Family liked it but prefer the recipe similar to this using bread slices instead of potatoes. As for the limp bacon, I put it on top of the cheese as the last ingredient and the bacon cooks up much nicer, don't even have to cook it first.
