About this Cook
I'm not much of a cook, but I do like to try new things. I'm newly married and luckily my husband does like to cook. But since I am a teacher I take over the cooking duties in the summer.....let's just say my husband is a very gracious guinea pig.
My favorite things to cook
Taco Dip (no actual cooking involved, just slather on the layers)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Canning applesauce! Mom's recipe is the best and I get "orders" from friends every fall.
My cooking triumphs
Homemade sloppy joes last night! It actually turned out good! (though not so much the potatoes, summer squash, and onions)
My cooking tragedies
Most cooking experiences for me....

Summer Style Chicken
My husband just told me that this might be his new favorite dish (we had it 2 nights ago). Apparently he can't stop thinking about it! I did add italian seasonings, garlic, salt, and pepper, and sliced onion. It was very flavorful.

Chicken Pot Pie I
Excellent with adjustments. Cooked chicken in chicken broth, used frozen veggies, used 2 cans of cream of whatever we had in the cupboard, 1/4 cup milk, and 1/4 cup chicken broth leftover from cooking chicken. Spices added: garlic powder, salt, pepper, and palm full of Mrs. Dash. Roommate approves.

Sloppy Joes II
This was so easy for me to make and delicious! I ran out of ketchup so just threw in some BBQ sauce (almost didn't have enough of that either....I need to restock!) and it was perfect! I'm a pretty bad cook and even I pulled this off successfully.
