Apple Cider Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2012
Some of the best pancakes I've ever made! I never have pancake mix hanging around so I made my own with 2/3 regular flour and 1/3 whole wheat. I also omitted the walnuts since my husband doesn't like them. I just toasted some and added them to the top of mine. I will definitely be making these again!!

Best-Ever Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2012
The first time I made this recipe I didn't read the directions very well because I was in a hurry. I ended up putting the whole can of soup and the water in with the rest of the meatloaf. It turned out to be really good that way, but a little salty. I just made this again the right way and it was even better. I ended up putting the soup and water mix over the meatloaf about half way through the cooking process and it was great! I also added some French's onions to the top. I will definitely make this again!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2011
This was absolutely amazing! It is the perfect fall recipe. I can't wait to try this topping over cherries and pears. I cut back to 3/4 cup white sugar because I wanted to taste more apple, but I didn't think about cutting back on the water...note to self for next time. Anyways, I loved it!

Chicken Suiza Cornbread Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
This definitely gets five stars! My husband is incredibly picky, so I struggle to find things that he will actually eat and enjoy. Tonight was the second time I have made this dish. The impressive part is that the first time I made it was 3 days ago. My husband loves it! I made a few minor changes both times though. I used 2 eggs instead of the substitute. I eliminated the mushrooms since neither of us like them. I used 1 cup of sour cream and a can of cream of chicken. I also added a 4 oz can of diced chile peppers for extra kick. This was absolutely amazing! Both my husband and I thank you. I will be making this many more times.

Mom's Best Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
I was very impressed with this recipe. The only thing I changed was adding a bit of seasoning. I added italian seasoning to the cracker mix and it gave it a nice kick of flavor. Next time I think I might marinade them in italian dressing before I coat them.

Beef and Rice Medley

Reviewed: May 12, 2011
Great base recipe. I doubled the rice because I felt like the beef to rice ratio was a little off. I also used beef broth instead of the boullion because I didn't have any. I added garlic powder and a touch of cumin and cayenne to give it some kick. Overall really quick and easy!

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2011
I have tried this recipe a couple of times with the ingredients listed and it just wasn't what I was looking for. After reading how others have tweaked it, I came up with what works for us. Instead of the flour, I used egg and breadcrumbs. I let the chicken brown for 5 minutes on each side in olive oil and butter then covered and backed it in the oven for 20 minutes. I mixed the cream, cornstarch, wine and bouillon in with the leftover oil. It came out great! I think I'm going to try it with just olive oil next time to make it healthier. Great recipe overall!

Crescent Pizza Pockets

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
This was a super quick and easy dish! I actually had some pizza dough in the fridge so I used that instead of the cresent rolls. I cut the dough into 4 squares then layered with pepperoni, sauce, then mozzerella and rolled them up. I pinched together the ends and brushed the tops with olive oil, parmesan cheese and some garlic powder. Then, popped them in the oven for about 13 minutes. They came out great and we had no leftovers between me and my husband.

Chicken Pot Pie Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2010
So, I was searching the site for something quick and easy to make with the few things I had in the house. This was a great guideline for a tasty throw together meal. These are the ingredients I used... 1 lb of cubed chicken sauteed in about 1/2 tbsp of olive oil 26 oz can of Cream of Mushroom soup 1 cup of frozen corn 1 cup frozen green beans 5 medium cubed and boiled potatoes (boiled until slightly softened) 1 cup of heavy cream salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil to taste 1 can of cresent rolls brushed with olive oil and grated parmesan cheese then baked as directed. Pulled apart and mixed in after they were done. Honestly, best meal I have made in a while. I will play around with this recipe a bit more. Highly recommend getting created with it.

Guy Approved Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
Best meatloaf recipe I have found so far. The only modifications I made were less onion(my husband doesn't care for onion too much) and I used 1/2 cup BBQ chips and 1/2 bread crumbs. I will definitely make again!
