Being Silly Me & My 3
About this Cook
I'm a happily married, stay at home mother of 3. I just LOVE my family & most of all I love cooking & baking for them. I enjoy canning, being creative in the kitchen with flavors & trying my creations. I also enjoy outside time. The outdoors are my families favorite place to be.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking & baking in general. I hate the mess though. I love to create & eat spicy foods. My overall favorite thing to do I guess is making cakes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The holidays are my favorite. That's when me & my cousins start the baking wars to see who gets most creative.
My cooking triumphs
I entered a baking contest for my state of Georgia in 2007. We had to come up with an original, never published recipe to enter. I made a Peach Spice cake. It was chosen out of the 1,000's entered & I got to go to Perry, Georgia to bake it & be judged. I tied for 3rd then placed 4th in state! I entered the same recipe in our state fair this year & won 1st place.
My cooking tragedies
I guess everyone has burnt something at least once in their life. HAHA!

Easy Pie Crust
I am an avid baker but have never attempted homemade pie crust. This was absolutely perfect. I didn't change it & it was so surprisingly flaky. perfect for any kind of pie.

Easy Key Lime Pie I
I've had lots of Key Lime Pie in my day & this was perfect! I do like my pies just a little more tart than others so I put in 1 cup of fresh squeezed lime juice + the fine grate of the peel from 2 limes, 2 cans sweetened condensed milk & 5 eggs & put it in a homemade flaky crust in an oval shaped dish because the 9" graham crust is to small. We topped it with a spoonful of coolwhip & it was delicious!

Quick Yeast Rolls
Delicious! I'm so happy to find something easier than the recipe I've been making. These are much faster & I used Quick Rise yeast so the dough rose much faster. I also put the bread in a loaf pan instead of muffins tins. After letting the loaf cool completely I sliced with my sharp serrated bread knife & we made sandwiches with it. They taste better on fresh bread. It's a great thing knowing that I know what I'm putting in my kids mouth. No preservatives is the best way to go. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
