Spritz Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2007
This would be 5* but I did make changes. I took the advice of another and baked 10 min. at 350. I also rolled into small balls, made a finger indention in the middle and topped with colored deco sugar. My family LOVED these and have requested that I bring them to every get-together! Thanks for the great recipe!

Chocolate Pudding Fudge Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2007
The Best! I also had to bake a little longer, just 10 min., and also used a chocolate fudge cake mix. Took it to our tailgate and 8 people ate the entire cake! Thanks so much for a great recipe!

Gone with the Wind Cake

Another lost recipe found! No need to change anything, this cake is perfect as is! My family is so happy I found this. We always top it with fresh strawberry sauce and strawberry slices. The perfect summer comfort dessert!

Auntie's Buttermilk Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2007
This has to be exactly the recipe my great granny always used! It was lost several years ago and I've been looking ever since. This is perfect the way it is, absolutely no need to change a thing! I didn't have the problem of needing extra baking time either. The perfect comfort food! I top it with the buttermilk sauce from a recipe on this site-Apple Cake with Buttermilk Sauce. That's how granny always served it, and the sauce recipe was with the cake recipe! Thank you for giving me back a piece of my childhood! :)

Pistachio Crusted Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2007
Fantastic! Made as stated and LOVED it! We got 10 chicken tenders out of this and with only two of us eating tonight-they were gone! I had to make more for my husband when he got home and he ate all 10 at once! We will definitely be making this a regular dish!

Quick and Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2007
Thought this was pretty good! The second time we had this I made a few changes and we liked it even more. I added mushrooms, more tuna (about 2 more cans) and used Velveeta instead of the slices. We will definitely be having this many more times to come!

Even my husband who hates sweet potatoes ate lots of this! There are three of us and there were only leftovers for one day! A great recipe! No changes needed!

Cream Cheese Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
The best chicken ever!! Even husband liked it so much he ate leftovers! (is the world ending!?) Made one minor change in that I used olive oil instead of butter to saute the mushrooms (dietary need). Didn't change anything else and it was perfect!! Thanks for a new favorite!

Maple Dill Carrots

Wonderful!!! I did use lemon pepper in place of the salt and pepper (salt intake) but left everything else as is. Just wonderful! A very nice change from plain old carrots!

Acorn Squash Slices

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
You got my husband AND grandma to eat veggies!! Thank you so much! I've always loved acorn squash among almost all other veggies, but was the only one who would eat it. But not anymore! I did peel and cube the squash like others so it would seem more edible to picky eaters, but that's the only change I made-it's perfect as is! Thanks again!!

Smoked Sausage Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
Very good, but the second time I made this I made some alterations. I added oregano, garlic, onion, red pepper and mushrooms. My husband liked it better the second time saying the first just didn't have enough seasoning. A great versatile recipe though!

Old Fashioned Stuffing

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
I gave this four stars only because I made changes. I took advice of others and added 1 tsp. thyme, 1 tsp. more sage, 2c. more broth which I used to baste during baking and used 1/2 croutons 1/2 bread. I also added a can of mushrooms and let it sit in the fridge overnight. It came out so moist and so good people kept going back for more. One person told me it was the best stuffing he had ever had! That meant a lot because he thinks stuffing is the best thing on earth! Thanks so much for a wonderful recipe!!
