Tri-Tip Rub

Super peppery. I don't remember the tri-tip I've had in Santa Maria being overwhelmed by the pepper. I'll try again halving it next time.

Terrific frosting! Made to recipe, except using butter flavor shortening. Turned out perfectly! It set up wonderfully (not hard, not squishy but just right)& tasted just like at the bakery. This does make a very large batch though - I generously frosted 4 dz cookies & still had 1/2 a batch left.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Super recipe! So easy to make with a traditonal sugar cookie flavor. Made exactly to recipe, baked 9 minutes, let completely cool & they were perfect - firm bottom, slightly chewy center. Only problem we have is deciding which batch is better - the one I frosted or the one I rolled in colored sprinkles.

Strawnana Bread

We loved this recipe! Left out the orange zest, but added 1 tsp vanilla & thought the flavor was terrific. Made 1 loaf & 12 regular sized muffins - muffin cook time was 30 min.

Toasted Garlic Bread

Easy, excellent recipe! Instead of preparing individual pieces of bread, I just slice the entire loaf once through the middle & prepare as instructed. We especially like it topped with mozzarella.

Baked Lamb Chops

My husband (the lamb lover) goes crazy over this recipe. I do add 2 tbspn dried parsley to the bread crumbs & lightly spinkle with Lawry's meat seasoning for a flavor boost. It turns out perfect every time (although cook time may vary according to thickness of the chops - cook to 170 for med. rare or 180 for medium.)

Fettuccine Alfredo V

Awesome recipe!! And so easy too. I followed the recipe exactly, freshly grating the parmesan cheese myself, and had no problems with texture, melting, gooeyness or flavor. My guests thought this was a restaurant quality sauce. I would use the parsley as a garnish though instead of mixing into the sauce. But a really great recipe!

Pan-Fried Asparagus

So easy & brought out such a wonderful flavor in the asparagus. I halved both the butter & the oil & it turned out great. The 10 minute cook time was perfect.

Breakfast Muffins

We thought these muffins were good but nothing special. I made them with strawberries & even added extra strawberries & a bit of vanilla, but they were still a bit on the bland side.

Banana Bread VII

We loved this - it's now my new banana bread recipe! It's so yummy & absolutely couldn't be easier. 3 very ripe banas were the perfect amount, plus I doubled the vanilla.

Amusement Park Cornbread

Absolutely loved this recipe! Added 2 extra tblspns of corn starch for better texture & it turned out great. I made regular size muffins & the 20 minute cook time was perfect - golden brown & cooked through.

Garlic Red Potatoes

This is a terrific recipe - especially when you're short on prep time. Great recipe to personalize to your own tastes too (we love to add dill to potatoes.) Definitely cook for an hour though.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Banana Bread I

This recipe is AWESOME!! We loved it. I followed others suggestions (used 1/2 white & 1/2 brown sugar, added 2 tbspns milk & 1 tspn vanilla plus 1/2 cup nuts) and made muffins. Turned out so moist & excellent! Definitely a keeper. Thanks!!

Cream Cheese Basil Summer Squash

Filet Mignon with Rich Balsamic Glaze

Filet stays very tender & cooks to a perfect medium rare, but the sauce dries out the filet & overwhelms the subtle flavor of the tenderloin. Not worth it when you're dealing with such a premium (and expensive)grade of steak.
