Ceviche

Reviewed: May 2, 2012
Made this recipe last year, made it this year! You can't go wrong with this and some tortilla chips as an appetizer. I gave mine a little bit of heat with some hot sauce! I use Seafood Watch's list and choose a fish that is sustainable. We have to choose wisely and be smart consumers.

Shrimp Tempura

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2012
Don't forget to purchase sustainably caught seafood as ocean stocks are predicted to deplete by 2050 if everyone does nothing. Your children will thank you :). This recipe is delicious! I paired it with homemade tempura sauce and it was soooo good. :D

Beef Bourguignon II

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
Tasty, but why use canned ingredients when you can add fresh ones? I diced carrots, sliced onions and mushrooms, and added some peas (only thing that was not fresh). I really do think it makes all the difference. I also subbed olive oil instead of butter -- it's just what I cook with and I think it's better for you and tastes better :).

True Wisconsin Bloody Mary

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2010
Up here in Canada, this is called a "Caesar". A Bloody Mary uses only tomato juice, not the clam/tomato kind. Just thought I'd offer that tidbit :). This is a tasty version of it!

Salad with Artichokes

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
Delicious, but one caveat. DO. NOT. USE. VEGETABLE OIL. Use olive oil. Extra virgin olive oil, ONLY. It is healthier, and tastes WAY better. Trust me.

Pumpkin Spiced Latte

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2010
I used to work at Starbucks, and in response to the comment below, you CANNOT buy the Pumpkin Spice Syrup that I know of. You can buy others (Vanilla, etc). This is a very close substitute, though. I do like my drinks a little sweeter and love the foam so I use my steamer, but the sugar and pumpkin spice is awesome. Well done on this.

Irish Coffee

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2010
Traditional Irish Coffee utilizes only the Irish whiskey and a little brown sugar to sweeten, but using Irish Cream liqueur is a nice touch! It's like a midway between an Irish Coffee and a B52, which uses 1/3 shot each of Khalua, Grand Marnier, and Irish Cream. Very tasty.
