Married to my wonderful husband 15+ years. My daughter, son in law, and four grand daughters also live with us. We have a large and rather eccentric family. We do lots of RV travel, and camping. With so many people living at our house there is lots of cooking. Thankfully I have no picky eaters. My motto is "everyones gotta eat" and that includes our two weiner dogs, cat, several stray cats, and a lovely family of five racoons that reside on our back porch. We love to take trips to the beach and hit all of the thrift stores, casinos, and good restaurants we can find.
My favorite things to cook
We used to live in Alaska, so I love to cook seafood, and game meat.I've made alot of smoked fish and jerky. My daughter and I also cook authentic mexican food at least 3 nights a week. When I make anything in the crock-pot, I have to make two pots at a time, especially beef stew.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sometimes on the rare weekend that we are home, I'll look up all kinds of appetizer recipes and my daughter, her husband, me and my husband all pitch in to create some of the wildest, spiciest, crazy food ever. There is always lots of beer, wine, and fun going on in our kitchen.
My cooking triumphs
Any time I send extra food to work with my husband he comes home with rave reviews, recipe requests, and I actually overheard one of his co-workers say "Thats Tim's Wife, shes a wonderful cook."
My cooking tragedies
When I was 8 years old, I thought I would surprise my family with a batch of home-made cookies. So I got out the red plaid cookbook and chose myself a fine recipe. When it came time to add the cream of tartar, I searched high and low and finally went to the neighbors house to borrow some tarter sauce to put in my cookies. The lady got to laughing so hard I think she may have had an accident. But to her credit, she didn't tell my mom.
