Piadina Romagnola (Italian Flat Bread)

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
This was very nice. Perfect for when I am in need of a fast flatbread. It seemed to lack a certain depth of flavor (probably because it was a quick-bread & not from yeast), but all things considered, I will make this again! Thanks for sharing!

World's Best Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2010
This was excellent & easy! I didn't have marshmallow cream- so I used 16 large marshmallows with 2 teaspoons melted in a double boiler & it came out great! By far the best recipe I've tried! Thanks for sharing!

Mom's Buttermilk Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
These were wonderful! Do not handle the dough too much & use only enough flour to keep them from sticking. I used a 2 1/2" cutter & got about 6 wonderfully fluffy biscuits. I am from Louisiana & my Husband is from Alabama and we both gave these 5 stars!! The only thing I did differently was increase baking soda to 1/2 teaspoon & I increased the salt by a smidge (I didn't measure it...). I also liberally brushed the tops with melted butter. We had these with home made blueberry jam. There is only the heavenly aroma of these lovely biscuits left!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2010
Oh my! These were magnificent!!! I used finely chopped almonds (instead of the pistachio) then added the zest of one orange, 1/8 t. Orange extract, and 1/4 t. combined ground cardamom and star anise. I will be making these all the time. As for the stickiness of the dough, really- just wet your hands and shape! So easy & scrumptious! I do have to add that my total baking time was way longer than stated in the recipe, but well worth the 'baby sitting' that I had to do with these. Again- excellent!! Grazie!!

Yum! I love the tang the starter adds! It is like a quick bread, but with a more grown-up flavor!

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2010
Awesome!! Delicious & easy. Got great results. This is now my base recipe for my husband's lunch-box! I added sesame and sunflower seeds. I also ommited the butter & used 6 T. ground flax seeds with 2 T water added (basic oil repacement ratio with flax). It is wonderful. Also, followed the advice of another review and used only 2 bread pans. Perfect sandwich size loaves. Thank-you for sharing this great recipe! Now if only we could get more non bread machine recipes on this site!! ;)

Chicken Pot Pie VIII

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
Crust was great! Overall a very good recipe. I feel I need to point out that anytime a roux is involved it's full thickening potential is not realized until you have let it boil for a few minutes. I allowed mine to boil while I simmered a half cup of heavy cream. I added the cream to the soup. I let this simmer a few minutes more, until it coated the back of my wooden spoon. I think the cream did wonders for the pot pie. I felt I was back in my Grandmother's Southern kitchen! Delicious!

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
This made a pretty good crust, for when you are time pressed or out of yeast. It came out tasting like a large crispy edged crepe. Very with non traditional toppings, like smoked cured salmon ( put it on after baking) cream cheese and capers. Yum!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
Unbelievably good right out if the oven!! I followed the advice of other reviews and added 1 t. Lemon juice 1/2 cup sour cream and I added 1/2 cup chopped almonds (I am allergic to walnuts). I also made sure the amount of mashed banana was equal to 1 cup. My entire family absolutely loved this bread! Thanks for the recipe. A keeper for sure!!

White Chili with Ground Turkey

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2010
This is delicious and sure to satisfy both tummy and soul on a cold night. I used fresh jalapeño peppers ribbed and seeded instead of the canned chilies. I also added in the juice of a lime and a teaspoon ground corriander. Topped it off with the usual fixings and served with homemade Mexican style cornbread. Yummy! Thanks for the recipe!

Basic Crepes

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
I made these for a Sunday morning breakfast. They were a hit with my opinionated (but sweet) husband and my opinionated & learning to be sweet 1 1/2 & 3 year olds! I put nutella and powdered sugar on mine & my husband's & melted butter, syrup & powdered sugar on my children's. I followed the suggestion of another review and added the flour to the liquid bit by bit while whisking briskly. The batter was perfectly smooth. I will make these again!!
