Bacon Quiche Tarts

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2007
This recipe was a hit at my New Year's Brunch. I took the advice of other reviewers and added an extra egg, used the Grands Flaky Biscuits divided in half, replaced the swiss cheese with Monterrey Jack/Colby cheese, and just mixed the bacon into the egg mixture. They were wonderful! Perfect for a party and everyone wanted the recipe!

Fluffy White Frosting

Reviewed: May 19, 2006
This recipe is the same my mother-in-law uses for her chocolate cake. Same ingredients, but she boils the water and sugar until it reaches soft ball on a candy thermometer. The cream of tartar is whipped with the egg whites. After the sugar and egg mixtures are whipped together, fold in the vanilla. Great frosting...a real classic! Don't give up, it can take a few trys to perfect it...at least it did for me!

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2006
This is a fabulous salad. Reminds me of dessert! Flavorful way to eat your spinach greens. Note, the salad will get soggy if you let it sit. Only mix the dressing as you eat a serving.

Raspberry Trifle

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2006
This trifle was okay. The raspberries are very tart. Maybe sweetened frozen raspberries would be better. Like another reviewer said, this recipe has good intentions. I too think it would be wonderful with strawberries. You need to be a fan of raspberries to enjoy.

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2006
This recipe is so easy and delicious! I only found 'whipped' cream cheese with chives. Not knowing how if might affect the consistency, I simply bought cream cheese with chives and onion. I also used unsalted butter since many reviews commented on the salty taste. Definitely a keeper!!!

Imitation Crab Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2005
I made this recipe without the bread and it is very good. I also added some Old Bay seasoning...no measure, just sprinkled and stirred. It gave it a little 'zest'!

This is delicious! I added a few drops of red food coloring to make it pink. Looked pretty in the center of my fruit tray.

Cream Filled Cupcakes

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2005
These cupcakes are very good. I did as another reviewer and piped a little dab on the top of the cupcake where I squirted in the filling. I also used 1/2 cup shortening by mistake, but they still tasted wonderful.

Easy White Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2005
This a great recipe. I boiled a chicken instead of canned broth and boneless breast meat. I also added a can of diced tomatoes and served with toppings of crushed tortilla chips, sour cream, shredded sharp cheddar cheese and chives. My guests loved it and I would definitely make this recipe again.

Great tasting and easy recipe. I broiled these for a few seconds to toast the coconut and topped with a maraschino cherry. Definitely need to be a coconut lover to fully appreciate this recipe.
