I remember my father making baked beans as a kid, he was a really good cook but I never really liked his baked beans made from scratch. I preferred the Van de Camps that he would doctor up over the ones he would make from scratch. These were sooo good. I did as one person had recommended and doubled the sauce recipe to pour over the beans and cooked them in the crockpot. These were great. Maybe a little too sweet but a great base recipe to make changes to as time goes by. Next time I plan on adding a pepper and maybe some apples and cutting down on the brown sugar a little. I am very please with the way they turned out though.
